The new worm gear is awesome, so many useful applications. now there can be more compact reduction systems with an 8z gear that are only 3 studs wide. Hopefully lego continues to offer both gears in future sets, as they both have their advantages and disadvantages.

The new worm gear looks like it only will mesh with double bevel gears, so the 8z gear will most likely not work. So unfortunately worm gear functions will take as much space as before, maybe just a little bit smaller.

Oh... I didn't notice how wide it is, well I guess it opens up a bunch of opportunities for driving double bevel style gears, I wonder if it will mesh with the 60z, and 28z turntables.

Yeah, it's great to finally be able to have a worm gear that meshes with bevel gears. It looks to have the same diameter as the 12z gear, so it might be difficult to mesh with the turntables, but I don't know. If would be awesome if it would work.

I'm liking that telehandler. Perfect size, and great use of parts. That new worm gear is great.

I knew there was a new gear! I built a replica of it and there is a lot of backlash with existing parts, hope to see what the new gear is like! also I'm calling it now that 42062 handler portion will have the worm gear near the base of the boom to lift it, you can just barely make it out in the pictures.

Interesting line of thought. Following it further, which piece would you consider the last inventive piece to be launched in Technic?

Well I don´t know because I can have an idea to give a different use to a piece and change everything, for example I love the pieces of my invented tracks and almost all are standar ones. I can say some of my last favorite pieces, I love almost every new wheel, unimog and class ones over all and some small pieces that are very usefull for my like these.

I really love this small piece a lot.

i must admit this jet looks great.First lego aircraft with VTOL.Design is without flaw.

It's Markus we're talking about, ofc it's without flaw.

The jet looks better than I expected But it lacks power functions. A lot of panels might be good got some MOC's

The telehandler 4 wheel steering :sweet:. Might worth a buy since it is only available in claas xerion right now.

Plane looks so much better than the first pics I saw. Nothing really wrong with panel heavy models as they look a little more "finished" IMO. Great to see a few new parts and new colors also.

The jet looks great, I think it'll be my only H1 purchase. I like the way it's captured a lot of the F35 design features.

As to the "super cars" I still haven't bought the Porsche and not sure if I will, but looking forward to seeing what's next

I like the Jet, although the lack of elevators (rear wings) bothers me a bit, not sure how well a plane shaped like this would actually fly.

The Jet does have elevators. You can see in this pic that both black triangular panels go down.

What it lacks are ailerons.

I interpreted those as ailerons, but yeah, seems like they are coupled to move in the same direction.

Still weird, seems like a set this size should have a full set of control surfaces to me.

thing that pulls my eye on the plane is front looks way too fat compare to rest of the plane and wings are tiny tiny. It is a bit like F104 wings on F35body with fat nose. and there are planes that combine functions of flaps and ailerons but then they should move independently which (granted there are only few pictures, so it is premature to judge) does not look like it is the case.

I love that F35B-esque jet!! Here's the description in english:

LEGO® 42066 Flying Competition. Enjoy the attractive building experience with this super-peak, streamlined LEGO® Technic Race plane on which you'll find amazing blue, black and red color scheme and cool sticker competition, as well as many original details and exciting motor functions! Turn on the built-in Power Functions motor and adjust the nozzle to a vertical or horizontal take-off position, open the fuselage, let down and stretch out the landing gear, open up the aperture to view the turbo blades are rotating and set the auxiliary wings flight mode! In front of an impressive all-round model of governance, moveable tail rudder and highly detailed, open cockpit you can find. If you wish to carry out the construction of a new task, you can convert it to magánrepülőgéppé amazing!

--

I wonder how you control the flight surfaces. I think that you can use the gear on the front to steer the front wheel, and the one in the back to move the rudder. But how do you move the elevons? Maybe they are moved with the back gear, and the front one controls both the steering and the rudder. Maybe it is controlled by a stick in the cockpit, or maybe by a wheigh in the inside.

--

BTW, I supose this set uses elevons:di2Kd.png

Finally, 42061 has landed! Great telehandler, looking forward to this one. The B-model looks bit weird, though - I'd visualized it as being a front loader with extending boom rather than a tow truck. Still, guess they wanted to do something different.

Thinking Alfred Pedersen might be the designer.

Excellent part for making perpendicular reinforcements in model frames etc.

Even if they did a last minute redesign and release it in pink?

Funny you should say that. The quarter ellipse liftarms making up the cab were black in the prelim image, and they're now dark bluish grey on the genuine article. Foreshadowing!
