i still think the wings look weird on the big technic jet.

I think (I only saw pictures) wings look way too small. like "F-104" kind of small

the jet does have elevators

And i just realized that those can't even pitch up :sceptic:

Although one might hope that they combined the functions of the ailerons and elevators in the same control surfaces with some fancy linkages :classic:

Funny you should mention that, i described it as an F35B with F104 wings bolted on a few posts back

Crap, you're right! quite poor design if you ask me, should be fixable by widening the wings one stud though

 because it is true. So it is obvious to both of us

Since it can't pitch up it isn't likely to move like ailerons anymore. Now we end up with a jet with elevators that can only go down. Really Markus...

Aircraft with delta wings have neither elevators or ailerons, they have elevons which function as both.  Also, this airplane has a V-tail and therefore the ruddervators (yes, they are really called that) can control both pitch and yaw.  What is really missing is a horizontal stabilizer, but this is not unusual.  The space shuttle is a good example of this configuration.

I certainly hope so. Though I'd really like them to appear in the Lego Stores tomorrow. Do we think that will be the case?

I am wondering, is the US release date same as the UK?  We have had 42057-60 available for a few weeks (sorry to the UK), but I really want the 42061-65 sets.

Anybody have any info on US release dates for those sets?  I called a Lego store a couple hours from me, but they didn't/wouldn't/couldn't give me any info, whereas they did for the 2H2016 release date (42053,54 and 55).  I live in the land of ice and much snow and hate to drive across the state I live in esp around Christmas rush time to find they don't have the rest of the 1H sets.  Also, haven't seen them at TRU's which can be notorious (in a good way to AFOLs) for putting out sets before S@H and the brand stores have them available.

Thanks in advance.

Wow that's some great info. Thanks for sharing!

Who said that the elevons can only go downwards?

Look at the light grey bits attached to the elevons, if the elevon were to go up, those grey 2 stud liftarms will foul the panel above it.

The angle on the ruddervators is waaaaaay too upright for them to be any kind of effective as elevators, yes they would have an effect, but not anywhere near enough to handle elevator duty by themselves.

As for the elevons, that might be a decent point, but this doesnt look like your traditional delta wing, its more of starfighter with the wings all the way at the back.

From the ship description:

The ship features a large captain’s bridge with radar and funnel detailing, plus a landing pad, working crane and an opening deck hatch for access to the ship’s hull, complete with bulbous bow and two fenders.

I have no idea where the "opening deck for access to the hull" is. Here are two photos of the deck, and I don't see any openable part.

Are you kidding me about the RC Tracked Racer? £74.99 for 370 pieces? No way are PF components worth that! Unbelievable! Just unbelievable!

Still like the telehandler, though, and the Roadwork Crew is really nicely priced.

Also just noticed the new curved panels on the back of the ship's command deck in white - the same panels used as seats in the Airport Rescue Vehicle! Could there still be hope...?

Yeah, probably not. :look:

ruddevators - if that would be the case they would be more or less 45 degree in angle.

yf-23 (Northrop design that lost to F-22 and was not selected for USAF)

yf23roll.jpg

only main wing configuration (no tailwing - no canards) would need much bigger wings in proportions. See e.g. Concorde

and if these flaps on the Legojet only turn downwards, that is a bit shame.

BTW: apart from plane all H1 sets are available on legoshop (I don't know it that is a new news to anybody)

That is EBT price (early bird tax). 2 months later it will be available in other e-shops for 2/3 of that. I never pay RRP. Patience saves money.

@J_C , the BWE was dirt cheap on Amazon only a few days after its official release, and one of my local toyshop will have all early 2017 sets by the end of the week (except for the jet)...and I expect them to be at least 15% off their official retail price...on a side note, this toyshop is one of the rare place where you can still buy quite a few discontinued big creator and technic sets at a very competitive price...the guy managing the Lego corner is a true AFOL

I see that in the UK and Germany (but not the US) some of the H1 2017 technic sets came out today a little early

I also see that there are no shortages this year before Christmas, first time for a few years.
