Ngoc Nguyen Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 From what I've seen in the development from prelim the color usually doesn't change. So I think we're gonna get that color for the flagsip. And after buying the last 5 consecutive flagships it's sad to think that I may not buy this one. Quote
Richard Dower Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Are those Red #3 connectors on the front grille of 42070?....or is it Orange? 16 hours ago, Gnac said: Whoo I wonder what type of red angle connector that teddy is sitting on. #3, at least four of 'em in the thing yup....it looks like it, but it could change to Orange in the final release. 16 hours ago, JJ2 said: It seems like everyone is overlooking the red #3 connector on the grill... Vectormatic Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Well, again im not exactly interested. Im mostly into sports/race-cars, and it seems lego just expects me to pony up for the porsche rather then build a proper succesor to 42000 and 42039, the motorcycles have also experience serious price-creep. Come to think of it, the only two sets from the last two years im interested in buying were/are 42048 and 57.. The rest is either uninteresting subject matter to me, or has serious design issues. Meatman Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Odd looking colors on the truck. I am sure it will have some cool new build ideas though. Quote
Rishab N Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Damn it time to sell the #3 connectors I stocked up on. I'll just repeat what others have said in that colorful models are great, but maybe this one takes it too far as it does not match the vehicle. The TLG designers must be scratching their heads "They asked for more colors and when we give them they complain" Quote
offroadcreations Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) Over on the Brickset forums, CM4Sci said Quote The other two should be the Airport vehicle and a purple/yellow tracked vehicle This means that the Extreme Adventure may be purple and yellow. If so, Lego is really using some bright colors in 2H. Edited January 12, 2017 by Offroadcreat1ons Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Jim also said it's purple and yellow. And since the color usually don't change between prelim and final sets, I think it's official. According to color theory, I think yellow is the accent color, purple and grey or black, not purple alone, will be the background color. Kinda like the color of 42055 or 42048. Quote
J_C Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 so the real question now is: Did Jim only see it, or did he already build it? Quote

IJsmuts Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Jim, is the tracked vehicle motorised? or maybe RC? what size set is it and do you think it will get our seal of approval? ?? Quote
AVCampos Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I don't think so, as the 42070 is already motorised, and the 42065 is already both motorised and tracked. KLF Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 It's sure not FULL RC if just crane and stabilizers are motorized. Quote

At this point, I might just get it as a parts pack for the Azure parts, if the price and contents are good enough. Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I'll probably use the annual budget for flagship this year to get the 42055 for the B-model. Quote
Seasider Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I must say but I'm in danger of not buying any technic sets in it's anniversary year. I haven't bought any H1 sets as nothing grabbed me. The jet is too wrong for someone with an Aeronautical Eng degree , the ship looks great but is too "City" for me, the Tracked Racer is too expensive for what it is and I've built my own version with only a small Bricklink order, the BMW is just too wrong under the saddle (which is very disappointing) and I'm not that keen on the smaller sets. i was hoping for a great H2 flagship but if the 6x6 is it then it's not for me. Fingers crossed the other 2 models are better, or there's a surprise Flagship model above the 6x6, or that there's another Technic "UCS" Car (but I think general opinion is it will skip a year). so perhaps my Future Lego purchases this year will be limited to Non-technic (I've bought the Porsche recently though) ... holding out for another Creator car, the Ideas Saturn V, and then wishful thinking for a UCS Milano (GotG) and a good UCS Star Wars set Quote
Victor Imaginator Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 This 6x6 may be better investment for me instead of Claas. At least if it using same new wheel hub parts. I just really don't sure about weird color) Quote

suffocation Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 "Big truck" + "Full RC" + "6x6" + "1 M-motor" screams BS. Quote
agrof Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) Looking the picture again and again, I agree that the color is really strange choice. I am not against something new, but for 42070 I would prefer more such blue-yellow combination, like this Kenworth by haiout (below). It is vibrant, and also uncommon for official sets. I know, color change most likely will not happen, only seen at Porsche, but that was for different purpose. This picture is also a nice reference for scale, as the power puller tires have almost the same diameter as the CLAAS ones. It must be HUGE. edit: I consider 42070 the perfect base for such beast MOCs. SOURCE Edited January 12, 2017 by agrof Quote
