Victor Imaginator Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Russian word "поиск" means "search", but "поисковый корабль" should be translated as "rescue ship", not a searching or researching. In any case - where is the origin of Russian set names? Quote
zux Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) In any case - where is the origin of Russian set names?Originally it came from this post but I'm interested in where did they got the names from. I suspect these could be simply translated from English. Edited August 22, 2016 by zux Quote

Jim Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 So the list originated in English, then it got translated to Russian and after that we were drawing conclusions and speculating that the English names weren't correct, based on the Russian names Quote
1gor Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 So the list originated in English, then it got translated to Russian and after that we were drawing conclusions and speculating that the English names weren't correct, based on the Russian names exactly, looks like tipical "Circulus in demonstrando". Anyway until we do not see images of sets we have to wait... Quote
XAxles Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 ...and wait, and wait, and maybe check the temperatures for the thread in case it gets cold with inactivity, and wait... Quote
Bering Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Patience is a wonderful thing. In the meantime, build a nice set or do something nice for this greedy world. Pictures will come soon, have fun waiting. Quote
J_C Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 (edited) meanwhile volunteer can translate Russian version into, lets say, Finnish, then to Polish, then to Hebrew, then to Spanish, then to Japanese, then to Flemish and back to English. I am sure there will be much more distilled information available afterwards. Edited August 23, 2016 by J_C Quote

Jim Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Can't wait for the hydraulics! Hehe Okay, it's probably better that we stop now and wait for some actual news Quote

Jim Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Pullbacks are most likely these: 42058 Stunt Bike - 19.99 42059 Stunt Truck - 19.99 Quote

(i hope its not a €80 pull back racer! XD if so i wouldn't buy it unless it had like 10 pullback motors!) Edited August 23, 2016 by legotechnicisawesome Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Wonder if the Container Transport is some kind of forklift or reach stacker... Quote

Kaanere Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Wonder if the Container Transport is some kind of forklift or reach stacker... I hope for a reach stacker, it could be a good set for the price. A truck with trailer would be borring. Quote
J_C Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 (edited) as container transport, I would wish for harbour crane on the rail. rails! And for H2 (or 2018) railway set. proper technic train - never been done before. Edited August 23, 2016 by J_C Quote

1gor Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 (edited) Just a little more speculation from a native Russian speaker POV. 42060 "Автомобиль для уборки улиц" for me usually refers to the larger truck-mounted things (like MrTekneex's Street Sweeper MOC — http://mrtekneex.altervista.org/streetsweeper.html). But the 20 price point doesn't warrant a large truck. I hope the Russian name is misleading and we get a compact street sweeper like this: http://binacitra.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/CityCat-1000.jpg (and yes I love these little things ;), but I'm a bit afraid TLC will give us something micro-scale like 42031 Cherry Picker, which would be very sad for me. :( or it could be based on 42035 mining truck tires Edited August 23, 2016 by I_Igor Quote
Kman860 Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 I just want to go to the set (I can't remember the name right now), the tracked off-road vehicle. I don't know how the translation works but could it be some thing like these-https://www.google.ca/search?q=atv+with+tracks&rlz=1C1GGGE_enCA549CA549&espv=2&biw=1366&bih=667&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjaupunhNnOAhVDxSYKHVwlACgQ_AUIBigB Quote
