The lego fan Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 (edited) Out of the pictures released so far, I'm a bit disappointed in creator for 2017 Oh well. I've liked all the other themes' sets so far for 2017. Let's hope for better sets for the rest of the unrevealed creator sets. The lego fan. EDIT : I have just seen the two house sets and I have to say I'm more impressed! Edited November 15, 2016 by The lego fan Quote

While I think your recolourings look cool, they look a bit too militarised for the Lego aesthetic. They kind of remind me of something Mega Blocks would produce. Does anyone have any idea when we'll see the remainder of the sets? I especially want to see the final version of House on Park Street. Quote
Matison01 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I can't wait to see how the townhouse looks! I hope it will be nice. Quote
Gorki247 Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Pictures of the the Townhhouse and Beachhut are now available on Brickset 31065-1: Park Street Townhouse 31063-1: Beachside Vacation Quote
Man with a hat Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Oh, that town house looks really nice. I like the use of the train windows. Great set. But that beachhouse... hmm. not really to my liking. Quote
DangAndBlast Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Is that a puppy? With a lever tail? That's clever :) Quote
J_C Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 (edited) B and C models are nice. Actually 3rd one of 31065 looks best to me. flickr pictures are linked from http://www.hothbricks.com/2016/11/nouveautes-lego-creator-2017-y-a-quelques-batiments/ Edited November 14, 2016 by J_C Quote
sebitsena Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 (edited) Not really impressed with the Town House which looks like a theater background ^^ The Beachside Vacation is a little bit more interesting, but not a must have for me. The B and C models are quite nice though. Still no official picture of the Seaplane Adventures, but it was quite flashy on preliminary pictures. I think i will not buy these first 2017 Creator models... Edited November 14, 2016 by sebitsena Quote

They are just too small and flat really. For these reasons I already gave the corner deli a pass. Quote
Agent 86 Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 I like the Townhouse, but it's so incredibly narrow. One half only appears to be two bricks thick and the other appears to only be four bricks thick. Did the old Creator houses and even sets like the Bike Shop and Café do that badly for Lego? Surely if Lego can see the value in releasing all of the HUGE sets like GB Headquarters, Disney Castle, etc, they could see the value in releasing more "middle ground" sets (i.e. somewhere between these newer Creator buildings and the huge sets)? Quote
LAKAbricks Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 In general I like the new Creator houses. They are the City houses we do not get. And even without the big panel bricks I agree, though, that often - at least a part of - the buildings are too narrow. And I do really not care for those ladder-style stairs, they make in the houses. A waste of space, if you ask me. It does not bother me too much, though, as I am thinking to rebuild the houses in town-style with open back. The Beachside Vacation does not catch my interest as much as the Park Street Townhouse does. Quote
David Thomsen Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Park house looks... okay. I understand these Creator buildings often have halves with two different sets of colours, but in this instance I think it would have looked better with a consistent scheme across both halves. Kind of wish I could see what the house looks like on the other side, or folded together. I don't think the bases will align when folded together? Quote
Oky Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 From Brickset: 31062 Exploration Robots 31064 Seaplane Adventures 10706 Blue Creative Box 10707 Red Creative Box 10708 Green Creative Box 10709 Orange Creative Box The robot looks great and the Seaplane reminds me of the Seaduck from TaleSpin! timehoopin Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 I'm liking the look of Exploration Robots! Any chance it will come with B or C model instructions? Quote

Kalhiki Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Exploration Robots looks incredible. Very curious about the alternate builds because the one shown is already a thing of beauty. Hopefully the B and C models look just as good! Quote
makoy Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 I wanted to like the creative boxes because I was hoping it would be bigger and would concentrate only on varying shade of one colour... but my enthusiasm on these sets died down completely when I saw how small it is and it has so many other colours thrown in. It would still be a great set that can spark imagination for kids but I was misled into believing that it would come at 200 pcs because that's the size of the smallest Creative Box release yet. Quote

David Thomsen Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 (edited) I'm excited to see that the Seaplane Adventures set is minifig compatible, after the Vacation Getaways last year. They've started making minifig-compatible Creator sets that aren't just buildings. And like the VG, I'm looking forward to seein what the alternative builds of SA are. I'm guessing at least one of them is some kind of boat, and maybe a building but I can't picture what kind of building they'd make that doesn't have doors and windows? Maybe some kind of fort. I like how they've managed to do Creator-style wings, very cool. Edited November 19, 2016 by David Thomsen Quote

A boat that kind of looks like the new City fishing boat, which is also minifig scale, but the minifig looks a little large in proportion. The building looks kind of like a beach bungalow, like the kind made of bamboo with a palm leaf roof, except it looks more like it's made out of found stuff, like maybe the parts from a wrecked sea plane... at least that's my interpretation of the blurry image. Source is the leaked images from a little while back. Quote

I saw the leaked pics but didn't pay attention to the seaplane because I had assumed it wasn't minifig compatible There's not enough 'land' in that pic to build anything on... I wonder if that means the underside of the plane has beige plates, or the floor inside. Edited November 20, 2016 by David Thomsen Quote

NewTown Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Does anyone know release dates for these sets? 31065 in particular. Quote
Agent 86 Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 The Creative Boxes are not what I was hoping for. I was hoping for BIG boxes, like the ones currently available, but with just one "colour" (albeit in multiple shades). And then maybe some separate Creative Boxes for different "themes" (e.g. "Vehicles" with windshields, wheels, doors, seats, etc and "Houses" with doors, windows, flowers, etc). The Townhouse looks a little bigger and better in the images on the back of the box. But, the differently coloured ground level is really odd (as others have noted). Quote
