Umbra-Manis Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) The Tourniquet The Engineering department at MANTIS has been hard at work producing The Tourniquet, a highly advanced mech, for the inaugural Andromeda Olympics. Let's take a look at their creation! And Here's the all existing parts version, which adds some grey spots. Size Proof: The legs and arms are both on a rotation only joint with no outward movement at the hip and shoulder respectively. The knees and elbows are the only places where they can move out to the side. I think this is the best mech I've built so far, so C&C welcome! And check out the 360 view on Mecabricks! Big Sal Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) This is really nice! However: Q: Can I post a digital MOC?A: Digital MOCs are allowed, but specific challenge could says otherwise. You'll have to check rules of each challenges. in any case, digital MOCs should be buildable with real bricks. No floating pieces, no unavailable combination of parts and colors. At the very least the 1x1 tooth tiles aren't available in lime. I don't think the tubes are available in trans neon/bright green either Edited August 14, 2016 by Big Sal Quote
Professor Thaum Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 (edited) This one is really great I like the constracting effect on the black parts... looks matify Edited August 14, 2016 by Professor Thaum Quote
EpsilonEta Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 If it was an actual competition with this size restricting rule only I'd imagine this design would be the best. It reminds me of the Lil' Longlegs but a lot beefier and with a lower center of mass. It's like a sumo wrestler compared to most boxer types. Other then the small ones that focus on ripping apart there opponents I think the only one who could take down this one is the Pombe mech who could headbutt it to the ground. Quote

I've switched the hoses to black, and replaced the tooth plates with standard round tiles. I'll upload the fixed main image once it's done. Not like it's the judges job to find all the wring parts but the Axle Connector for the hands and mixel joint holder in the knees doesn't exist in black either. (but in DBG) Quote

You still have many parts that do not exist in those colors Here are some I found The hammer https://www.bricklin...e?id=109413#T=C The shield http://www.bricklink...age?P=91884#T=C Round tile with stud https://www.bricklin...age?P=18674#T=C Round tile with hole https://www.bricklin...age?P=15535#T=C Quote

The hammer is light bluish gray, but isn't visible. The shield is pearl dark gray, and it's reflecting the black leg. 15535 comes in black in two summer sets, and 18674 isn't used in the MOC. Here's the parts list from the final render. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Very unique build. The design is interesting. Very heavy. It looks like it'd do very well in a real mech contest like this... since I don't think it'd be too easy to knock this guy out! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
