Jim Posted August 16, 2016 Author Posted August 16, 2016 I think "standard" users only can have four badges. We might need to combine some of Jeroens tags Are studded Technic models allowed? Do the rules say they are not allowed? Quote
grum64 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I'm a sucker for badges, so count me in I've only got one badge and all that does is tell everyone I'm an old fart Jealous. Yes. Quote
Jeroen Ottens Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Looking forward to see what your magical building hands will do with pneumatic! Well... I do have an X-wing as a legacy to live up to... But I first go on vacation, so buildtime will be limited this time... Quote
Appie Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 No inspiration and the no size or parts limit kind of puts me off. Otherwise looking forward to see what people come up with. Quote
dr_spock Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I guess this is a good excuse to gut the Unimog. I think "standard" users only can have four badges. It is 6 tags. I had to drop a tag to make room for a new tag when I was at six. Otherwise staff would have to make a new tag image by combining other tags into one. Quote
JJ2 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Can you make custom pneumatic cylinders made out of system parts? also can you make a none lego air tank? Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Can you make custom pneumatic cylinders made out of system parts? also can you make a none lego air tank? You might want to spell check that reply, what is a none air tank? Quote
Milan Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Can you make custom pneumatic cylinders made out of system parts? How would that work? Attention should be on Lego pneumatic system. also can you make a none lego air tank? If you mean 3rd party non Lego air tank, then no. Quote
Block_Smarts Lego Technic Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Are we allowed to remove springs from the pumps? Quote
Jim Posted August 16, 2016 Author Posted August 16, 2016 Can you make custom pneumatic cylinders made out of system parts? also can you make a none lego air tank? You can make anything you want using LEGO parts, 3rd party hoses, ropes and bands. But like Milan said; let's focus on the pneumatic system. Are we allowed to remove springs from the pumps? In order to accomplish what? Driving hand pump with a motor, resulting in a more powerful motorized pump? I think he means 3rd party airtanks, like in Lucio's Airport crash tender. Let's stick to LEGO parts. Remember....bigger is not always better. I for one really like the manually operated Volvo, because of it's "simplicity". How would that work? Attention should be on Lego pneumatic system. Not sure how that should work, but I agree we like to see creations, using the Pneumatic System. If you mean 3rd party non Lego air tank, then no. Agreed. No inspiration and the no size or parts limit kind of puts me off. Otherwise looking forward to see what people come up with. You don't need to build big. Quote
schraubedrin Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I guess to turn the hand-pump into a motorised pump without the additional resistance of springs. An alternative would be to use two handpumps phase-shifted, negating the spring forces. Quote
Jim Posted August 16, 2016 Author Posted August 16, 2016 A quick question - what is the definition of "model"? Does it have to be a scale-model or can it be a generic MOC (of course with pneumatics)? It can be anything you want. I guess to turn the hand-pump into a motorised pump without the additional resistance of springs. That's basically what I said, right I've only got one badge and all that does is tell everyone I'm an old fart One badge....AND a title you mean Quote
roppie11 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 is it allowed to use a "motorpump" (like 42008 or 42043) as a handpump? i dont have a handpump like the volvo one. I don't see it forbidden in the rules but i would be sad if i get disqualified you knoww Quote
grum64 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 One badge....AND a title you mean Ah yes, remiss of me to forget the title. Thank you for pointing that out O' esteemed multiple badge holder :classic: Quote

Appie Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 (edited) You don't need to build big. I know. I think my avatar proves that for pneumatics, but if people have the option to build big, most of them will, which I find a pity. Edited August 16, 2016 by Appie Quote
TechnicHead41 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 So if i already got a moc that is almost finnished but yet not presented, can use that as an entry in this contest ? It has pneumatics V2 and uses a handpump. Quote

Appie Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 My entries to contests have not been big. Which is why I edited my post as you quoted it to "most of them will" Quote
Milan Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 ...if people have the option to build big, most of them will, which I find a pity. Why would you find that pity? What is wrong with building big? Each style has its own pros and cons, and each style its own challenges. Quote

If it's not presented and it fits the rules, than you are a lucky bastard That's why Jeroen has so many tags (Just kidding of course, he definitely earned those) Quote
Appie Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 (edited) Why would you find that pity? What is wrong with building big? Each style has its own pros and cons, and each style its own challenges. Because I like small models? This is no secret since I have been on this forum. I can appreciate bigger pneumatic models like Jeroen's X-Wing but it's not something I'd go for myself. BachAddict Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Ah, this'll be tight if I want to make something. I won't be back with my LEGO until after Skaerbaek Fan Weekend. On that note, who's going? Quote
