It will certainly carry the air pressure, but with such huge wall thickness it will be quite difficult to bend.

It seems to do alright

I am attempting to make a tank driven by a LPE, but with 6 pumps and 3 cylinders driving the LPE it is still extremely slow with very little power. Would it be held against the entry if it's slower than the Bucket Wheel Excavator?

No, speed is not important. But presentation is, if you want to make your entry stand out and be interesting. So very slow entry might loose some points there.

I would suggest you to remove two cylinders from LPE, and leave just one, with one big hand pump. One cylinder lpe has a lot of power if powered with big pump, and should have 60 rpm at least.

I have already experimented with a lot of designs and unfortunately most of them don't work reliably. A 1 cylinder LPE requires a push to get it going and without some kind of momentum it just seems to end up going backwards and forwards. A 2 cylinder with 90 degree offset at least stays in one direction but there is a point in its rotation which requires a huge amount of air pressure to overcome, it basically stalls for a while with lego pumps driving it so I have had to settle on the 3 cylinder design to have something that works without needing an external air compressor.

If presentation is important, does this mean it requires a lot of custom parts purchasing to make it look uniform too? I have mostly been using the Arocs+BWE sets to build mine with a few additional pumps bought.

LPE:

Check out online few 1 cylinder lpe designs, this should give you good start. Based on what you are saying, i am pretty sure that problem with your 1 cyl lpe is that you dont have heavy and geared-up flywheel, or its timing is wrong. If you need more help, i can try to assist. I built few that work nice. Go to my fb or website in the signature and contact me there.

Presentation:

Well, look at it this way, lots of guys who will vote are not from Technic forum, and it is a good idea that, beside functional model (which the most important), you make a nice looking model. And, for your tank, slower than BWE wont look so good.

Hi!

When I finished a TC10 model, and uploaded a youtube video, need anything to do to take part in the competition?

How can I insert embedded video on this page?

Thanks.

Hello, I'm new to this site, I never posted something, I want too enter the pneumatic contest but ( yes I'm stupid) I don't see how to add my stuff in the tc10 section, I push on tc10 above here where the 5 words are in the *bricks* and when in the tc10 section scrolling on it I don't see any way to start my own topic, like on this page it's above and under the page the function to add, nothing there...btw also I see Jim is dutch speaking, so if you want to explain me in dutch even better ^^ but english works also...

Many thanks

Yes, you need to check out the first page of this topic. You need Discussion topic, which you already have, and entry post, which you will create after the entry topic is ready. Just make sure that all the requirements are fulfilled. Detailed info is on the first page of this topic.

Hello, did you check out the first page of this topic? All the info is there. You need Discussion topic, which you can create in main page of this forum, and entry post, which you can create after the entry topic is ready.

We need to write English here.

Sorry for the basic question, first contest. How long is the entry topic normally open to post our model?

Normally it's already open. My bad.....or my Bat in this case since I am playing Batman VR at the moment. Sorry for this off topic comment. Anyone using PS VR, feel free to discuss in the Pub.

I will open the topic tomorrow. Thanks for the "reminder".

Thanks for the answer .

Should I then expect it to be closed on the 31st? Some background for the question: It's a long holiday weekend here and I will be away, so I just don't want to miss the timeslot to post the entry...

Take it away guys! Entry topic is open!

You need to create a normal topic with information about your MOC for the contest. In that topic we can discuss it.

Furthermore you will need to make a single post in the entry topic, which is just opened.

Closing date and procedure is stated in the first post
(I always close contests on Monday or later, so you will have the entire Sunday to finish your entry)

Indeed, but you reserved the right to extend it though

Got to do it tonight then, cause I'm off till Tuesday :cry_sad:

Can someone and one of the moderators help me. Every post I make all the words/sentences become links when I'm just typing. My entry into the TC10 comp Lil excavator entry is all links going to my flickr page including my last post in my WIP thread. Does anyone know why and how to undo it and not to do it again?

Wait I found the reason. When I paste the first link pic or vid I needed to place a space or empty line before I start writing or it carries it all the way through the whole post even though the writing was black and not blue.

You probably mean Brickshelf? And no, Flickr is not horrible in use. But I admit, you need to get used to it.

Why not use Bricksafe? That's very easy to use and there aren't any issues with public and private pictures etc.

If you're going to stick with Brickshelf, then you can use the deeplinks (keep clicking on your picture until you are at a URL that ends with .jpg (or whatever extension your image is) rather than ?i=[number]), which will work straight away.

But Bricksafe is a better alternative.

yeah srry my bad, brickshelf... and when on flickr finding out to put pix from the photostream, I want to make an album, but then when I look to my albums I've got none... Bricksafe I don't know, but it's ok, my pictures are already online on brickshelf, it's a miracle :p

Can I include renderings in my entry post, as long as I have photos of the real thing, too? I'm just asking because the rules page said that the model had to be built in real life.

(Apologies for the stupid question, but I would rather be safe than sorry.)
