I see a lot of excellent entries for this contest, many of which deserve individual praise, but I don't want to bump 15+ topics tonight, so I'll just say this: job well done by all the participants.

This is the strongest contest what I have seen yet, with high quality entries.

It would be great, if aside the normal voting, we could give an extra title for the most original and most creative entry too. ;)

I agree, a lot of deserving MOCs in that aspect entered the competition.

Contest closed voting is up!

I missed some of the great and original entries. Wow, just wow!

Some of them even put a smile on my face. Great work guys!

I have to admit that the level of left field thinking of members and what they come up with in the comp is mind blowing, I mean we have Pneumatic Technic Lego trains and on the other hand a trolley jack that's equally impressive. I changed my voting order at least 14 times and still wish I could give everyone points, you all deserve a win. Well done to everyone and good luck.

I'll just add my WOW! so impressed with the entries.

this is truely an inspiration for me as I just start my second Lego life at 41.

congrats to everyone, the quality of entries makes voting difficult!

Tons of new members are voting... Predicting any results will be impossible, Is there a way to keep this in hand? I can foresee some major disappointments. I mean the forum software itself should filter or disallow posting based on the joining date?

There's a guy I know, who is always keeping track of voting by new members. Can't remember his name, but he's pretty strict about the voting process

Agreed. This voting was incredibly hard. There are quite a few very original entries, but I'm afraid they're going to lose to the big trucks and machines. I think those left-field entries much better capture what pneumatics can do than yet another excavator, telehandler or garbage truck (no offence...) and deserve some credit for out-of-the-box thinking.

I understand why this needs to be monitored but as a new member it does sound a little elitist and discouraouging.

It's an interesting comment but a lot about Lego, for me, is the visual appeal as well as technical merit and a large part of my voting is 'would I buy it?'

But I also agree with 'agrof' comment

The entry rules are clearly stated in the topic. It shouldn't be that hard to follow up a few simple requirements.

The first time I will (have to :) ) prepare a complex Excel chart for voting, I will give points for all important criteria, than summarize. I assume this will help me to get more objective list in the end.

Don't forget to look at the contest as fun in first row, but take it serious, it is a game! :)

I have written software to count votes. The software has an option to check on Joined date after the start of the contest. This is to avoid vote rigging. In the past none of the results were affected by the check on joined date (on or off)

I'm doing the exact same thing. So what are your criteria?

I try to compare by the next (I will do this on weekend so haven't made many thoughts yet):

Creativity (idea); Authenticity; Complexity; Appearance; Playability; Presentation; ...

These are so far, 1-10 points each, and we will see. The result will be still subjective, but more analytical - all the entries deserve the extra attention.:classic:

I'm having problems viewing the entry topic. I keep getting an error part way through the page loading. This repeats until the browser finally gives up.

Is anyone else having similar issues?

If other parts of the forum works well for you, then it is probably sheer number of the pictures in the entry topic that is causing it. Next contest's entry topic will probably have less pictures allowed.
