Ok, i may not have enough time, but i will give my best. Thanks for answer!

Ohh, one more thing:

My entry might have two very different type of wheels (tires) for different terrains.

Can I use one type of wheels in one part of the video, and then remove them, and put another type and continue filming?

Will it be ok since i would remove old and install new parts (just tires). Model will be the same, i would just change the tires.

I sorry, but that's not allowed. You should choose a set of tires and use that for the video and pictures.

Looking forward to your entry.

Is it possible to use a pressure switch?

I'm inclined to say yes, but I will discuss it with Milan.

Could i use pneumatic not directly to the functions? Example:

tc10_example.png

So, when the pneumatic pumps up, it rotate the 4x4 beam. Is it ok?

Yup. Why would this not be allowed? Is there a certain rule you are referring too?

Nope. Too bad for the Jim's

We don't call it a WIP topic per se, but you need to create a "discussion" topic, like Milan pointed out.

And yes, you can start this discussion topic an hour before closing date. But that's not what we prefer of course. Creating a topic early on will give you a chance to showcase your model, get response, etc.

But you don't need to create a topic to show your progress. You can create the topic when you have finished your model, if that's what you mean.

(...)

well, then i may enter as well. i don't like it if i am "pushed en watched" through a WIP topic.

Sure. Some people like to show their progress, maybe get some advice etc. Other people like to build in piece and quiet. The choice is yours

As long as you create a topic in the end.

LA's not allowed at all, not even for steering?

Model cannot use PF for driving?

As stated in the rules, LAs are not allowed, nor is PF for anything other than pneumatic pump.

Oh, i'm so far from pneumatics. Don't have any pump or cylinder) Sad, but i will pass on this contest.

Same here :cry_sad: The only pnuematic piece I have is this.

Here's my entry... it is a T piece, it does nothing.

Does anybody know why the pneumatics are so expensive? My plans on getting 9392 are being destroyed because of the cylinders and switches I'm missing :(

BTW I have 18 units of the T-piece

I have the same question. My project's pneumatic will cost about 80USD:(

Maybe I have overseen it, but in fact the contest entry model must not be Technic, because there is no limitation of studded parts. So I can make full studded steam locomotive where pneumatic cylinders drive the wheels...

Max I'm going to interpret "must not be" as meaning "is not required to be" as I think that is what you're going for. I think one of the concepts of Technic at least on this forum is that it is about the functions. In my opinion a build can use many system "studded" parts and have functions and still be "Technic" even if it doesn't have visible liftarms etc.

Edit: I also meant to ask, the rule about lights correlates it to using a motor driven pump. Can we use these light bricks with their own batteries even if we have a hand driven pump?

Lol..brilliant, u got my vote.... I needed a laugh after the Porsche comp. Jim this sounds like a great comp, I may make something small this time around.

Best deal on pneumatics is if you buy the pneumatic bag from 42043. $45 USD or so for the bag. No T connectors though, but those are dime a dozen on Bricklink.

Won't work for me. I need three mini pistons and three switches :/

Max

Remember that this IS a Technic contest. The model being Technic is implied by the contest itself. Usually we allow model team like models, which have a studded finish. But it should definitely be considered a Technic model.

Edit: since this contest is all about Technic and Pneumatic, let's NOT do Model Team. A studded model is okay (like the excavator in the picture) but let's not make a Model Team entry.

You know I like small and compact builds

I have just responded to Max's post. No model team for this contest. A studded build is okay, but no model team like entry.

Why are you doing this to me?!

No lights are only allowed when using a motorized pump.

For all (potentian) contestants:

Since this contest is all about Technic and Pneumatic, Model Team entries are NOT allowed. A studded model is okay (like the excavator in the picture) but don't turn it into a Model Team entry.

To be clear; this is okay!

It's fun,and we all need some one to pick on,so naturally as you are the "technic moderator/admin" we pick on you.

But that white truck does not have any pneumatics in it..... :look:

So if you wanted you could build that white truck and stick a cylinder on the roof as a aerial and then enter it?

Now I see that I didn´t read well the rules...

It doesn't really matter if the white truck has pneumatics or not. It's the model team finish that is NOT allowed.

I think you read it fine. We just added this to the rules. I don't mind studded entries, but the emphasis should be pneumatics, not a studded model team like finish.
