one more thing with this site, is that more and more people are joining by the day.i mean, thats great, we love new comers from their dark ages ect, but soon it will get out of hand :-( .it would be good if it got changed to an "invite only" or something.too many is too many, and prehaps it from now on needs to be more controled |-/ other people can still brouse and stuff ;-)

Provided that you already have at least one other member in your contact list, which probably doesn't apply to a lot of members here (myself included). A chatroom is open for all members, so everybody can join in and get to know other members they otherwise wouldn't have had much contact with. There is a lot to say in favor of an EB chat, but I also understand the practical limitations.

In the past year I've been here I've seen most people do pay respect to each other, but also enough cases where people don't.. Ofcourse, those people don't really deserve your respect, but if you still treat them with respect, they'll easier come around :-)

And most spamming members.. I think the most don't even know they're spamming, they are just excited about this great place and would like to become a part of it.

I can't think of any good a chat would bring.

But if people would fill out their profile to more detail - like the field for the MSN address - then getting in contact with them or chatting with them would be easier...

Oh i agree and we did try a chat room some years ago, it just didn't work.

If you want to talk to someone on msn and they don't have their details listed then why not send them a PM requesting it, that would be alot better for EB than usless chit chat on the boards.

the way i was spoken to by a mod was appalling if they where on this forum they would be banned for a week or 2 and there mod powers revoked completely for flaming a member.

i originate from this forum and ive been so happy there but was appalled by how a moderator spoke to me

also if this mod in question where to join my forum and speak to some one like that he or she would be taken down so many notches he or she wouldn't believe it they would make he or she feel incredibly small

I must say, recently chamberings have been on the up - before the Thok/Avrak business there were very few, but now look at it! Hmm... :-/

I think more competitions and smackdowns are necessary for a better community - friendly competitiveness encourage friendships, IMHO - it gives you a starting ground for conversations and such - grudges e.t.c. are good! *y* Make it more fun! *y* And hilarious! *y*

As far as the competitions go, we've recently begun a new phase of not running too many contests at once. We got a little out of control for a while and there were too many and some of them were disorganized. So we're currently re-vamping the contest system while we have some great contests running out there right now in the Town and Pirates forums. X-D

EB's chat room... g... that brings back memories... :-$ most of all, of annoying kids ruining conversations between yoda and me, the last one that got out, got stuck with entertaining those darn kids. Think VCVC screwed it up in the end... but it was fun for a while... when msn was still far away ... nope, don't see a reason to start it up again...

however , if there's one thing that could be improved on these boards nowadays, it's the language some of the members. Maybe they haven't crossed the line just yet, but they are flirting with it. and some respect for others may be nice as well... yes, i certainly see some room for improvement there!

Please keep in mind that this is the PVC (pun intended :-D ) era, things have changed since the last time. ;-) Have you seen many VCVC'ers lately?

Been here a short time and have wondered about a few things...

1. One needs to have a certain # of posts to "move up the ladder"? Why? Just because I don't post, doesn't mean I don't care about the site. And who says I don't know Lego, if I don't have a certain # of posts?! Sometimes I don't feel the need to convey my opinion - more often than not, others have already brought up great points or interesting ideas that I share.

2. Have Admins ever thought about receiving donations? I'd rather donate (via Paypal is easiest) to be able to post a larger (or even animated!) avatar, have access to more PMs etc.

3. Not singling anyone out, but editing Caps from titles? Seriously? :-|

4. The ability to add in signature pics is AWESOME! Kudos for that!!

Can't think of anything else at the moment...still perusing topics and navigating the site. Thanks!

Those ranks are just a perk for members. Yes, you "move up" after reaching certain post numbers, but it's not a measurement of your contribution quality and we certainly don't see it that way.

Many members do it the same way. They just have been here longer and thus their post count may be higher. Even if you don't participate in every discussion your posts do add up in time...
