MicVash Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I came because first I randomly found this place while looking for some LEGO pictures. I had no interest in LEGO forums but after lurking around for a bit, I immediately really liked this place. *sweet* Because of EB, I've started to build more MOCs, found some great inspiration, kept up with the LEGO news and set releases, and actually bought new LEGO! I really enjoy this place because really I don't have any peers that find LEGO as a hobby, or at least they don't admit it. I do have one though...but his building skills aren't that great. I feel a great sense of community here and it's nice to have some feedback on my MOCs. Quote
hollisbrick Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Well it all started when i came out of my dark ages and refound my love of lego so i went out to join a forum, i first tryed fbtb but for some reason they didnt accept me so i came here! so in some way it was a good thing! Quote
Ricecracker Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 one day in late 2006, i decided to look around for some lego fan sites, and, lo and behold, Eurobricks!! now i know you must be thinking "2006? thats more than a year" and its because i was a bit scared of the under 18 rule :-$ . im glad i did join though, i can learn great techniques, get feedback on my MOCs and see early leaked pictures... ZoL Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I came here looking for a place to replace Ibricks when it closed, then I stayed. I am sick of bad forums and worse communities, and I found a nice community and forum here, so for, I'm staying Quote
VBBN Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 (edited) Going off on a tangent. :-$ VBBN, do live in the U.P. or the lower part of MI? P Lower Michigan, Detroit. Edited January 13, 2008 by ~VBBN~ Quote
SlyOwl Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I first joined here for the contests, my first post being in the Pirate Halloween contest thread. Also, I was looking for a site where you could have slightly more free reign over posts and what you discuss - Brickset was OK, until the threads all got closed, but you couldn't say much, display pictures or do anything really. Lugnet? Nope, you have to pay, horrid posting system (IMHO), AFOL required, rather exclusive, IMHO. Brickshelf offered nothing, so I began to browse around for a contest and forums. Classic Castle is OK, but I can't use my Hotmail address there and it is exclusively castle, which doesn't quite suit me. So I ended up here, and here I'll stay. The Pirate forum is one of the main attractions - nowhere else do the brethren gather in such numbers! Lord Sylp - I *wub* your avatar! X-D SlyOwl Quote
blueandwhite Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I'm something of a castle freak, so it should be no surprise that I am first and foremost a CCer. I've been a member on that board for much longer than I've been a member here. That being said, Eurobricks is probably the best LEGO community on the internet right now with a diverse group of fans interested in a variety of themes. It is also the single best source of LEGO news. At the end of the day I go to CC for my castle needs and Eurobricks for everything else. I very much doubt that you could do better than these forums when it comes to talking all things LEGO, though Classic Castle and Classic Space are quite good as theme-dedicated sites. All in all, I find that I get my LEGO fix filled quite nicely on the interweb. Quote
Commander Andrew of 501 st Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 (edited) i came here as a secondary lurker from fbtb(was a lurker there) so i lurkered around for a few mothes then joined because Fbtb's mods are rude a$$es that Rtb which i don't like one bit >:-) :-P the leaked pics here are what got me hooked! WesternOutlaw Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I must have missed this thread, but here's a question that was brought up last year: Favorite Message Types. It gives an idea of what people like to read about, as well as shed some light on the subject of why people come to EB. Myself: I like to share my Lego hobby with others and enjoy the comradery among other EB members. EB provides a great way to relax and laugh, find out information about new sets, and share what you build with others who appreciate the hobby. In addition, it's by far the most comprehensive Lego Forum on the web. Others are too theme specific. I like castle, but not enough to limit my posts and topics to castle. Same thing with FBTB (if those initials are correct). I don't even check the site out anymore. Quote
Starwars4J Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 TRYING TO TRADE :-( If you're here just to trade (which is what your message indicates) then perhaps you don't belong on EB. Quote
Chuck Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I came here for the great food, nice atmosphere, legal walrus hunting, and the fresh pine scent. -Chuck Quote
Siegfried Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I came here as Eurobricks is not as stuffy or single-minded as some other Lego sites. It's the one-stop-shop for Lego fun! *wub* legal walrus hunting Hey! It's not legal! It's just un-enforced. :'-( Quote
Scouty Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I came here for the secret seafood restaraunt, which they're supposed to hav...uhm, nothing...nothing at all X-D . Hewman Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Definitely for all the new pics and some great reviews. So to all those that provide those, a huge thank you from me. Quote
