Hello, I wanted to share with you the Lego Land Rover that I have built with my 11 year old son. Inspired after watching The Secret World of Lego we decided to build a ............

LAND ROVER!

This Lego model of the instantly recognisable Land rover series III has all the features of the original.

With impressive features such as opening doors, bonnet and removable hard top. The detail is just as amazing from the petrol filler cap, mud flaps and exhaust system. The detail on the inside includes adjustable front seats, moving gearstick, lifelike gauges and highly detailed engine bay with removable grill, enabling you to see all the internal workings.

This is not only a lifelike model that can be displayed for all to see but can also be great fun with the children creating the ultimate Lego 4x4 experience.

Myself and my son have not only had an amazing time creating this Lego model but we now have a Lego model of the iconic 4x4 known to all as the LAND ROVER to display with pride next to our other Lego models.

The model comprises of approximately 1100 bricks. It measures 27cm length, 13cm height and 13cm width.

We have been to a few Land Rover Shows and it was visitors there who asked us to do a Defender which we have (pictures to come) and then we went to a few Lego Shows as well which also got us some feedback which we do listen to and have improved our models from that. We have lots of shows coming up and love the interaction with people, it keeps us busy as usually myself, the wife and Ben all go so it's a real family affair :)

Anyway please also have a look at our Ideas Project of this using the link, let us know what you think as we do like to get feedback and if you really like it please register your support.

I like your spin on this vehicle, I think Lego could benefit from something like this....It reminds me of the scale of the recent Minicooper, no?

Great job to the both of you.

Hi there, thank you. We did try to do it to the same scale as the creator vehicles, we have the campervan so we went from that originally. We like the idea from the different models of Land Rover that they are very easy to modify so there is not a great brick difference from the Series III to the Defender and then we have done an off road version with a few extras on so it could either be a model on the shelf or there is the option to modify it - which we believe lots of Land Rover owners like to do! So it is something that can be played with if people wish to :)

Looks great, Dadandlad! Thanks for posting this in its separate topic. I think it will get better attention here anyway rather than the "Hello, my name is..." forum. Best of luck on the project and thanks for joining the site. I really love to see a father and son building together.

Looks great. The scaling of the vehicle is very nice.

I'll make sure to support it as soon as I can figure out what's wrong with my ideas account.

We had some help on moving it luckily for us :) it's been great building and now promoting it together. Keeping us busy!

Just an update for you, we are now over 3/4 of the way there with over 7500 supporters which is great! We need you to encourage your family members and friends to register (an update has just been done which they say makes supporting us easier) and help us get to the 10000 Lego review stage to get this produced :)

Our next exhibiting shows are Brick Lego Show in Birmingham in 2 weeks and Classic Car Show in Birmingham middle of November so might see you there if you are attending! ;) here is the link in case you need it!

Hello, just thought I would let you know we need less than 800 supporters now. We went to a Lego Show and Classic Car Show at the NEC in Birmingham recently. Feedback was great and people were asking how much as they thought we were selling the Land Rovers. Sadly we had to disappoint them but we did ask them to support us on Lego Ideas which it looks like a lot of people have done.

We are hopeful we can get to Lego review stage now and then it's fingers crossed Lego will produce it so please support us if you haven't already done so.

Following shows we found people do have their preference for which model they would like Lego to produce which are all on our update page. We would hope that if Lego produce the Land Rover then maybe it could have the option of building the alternative models. The white off road vehicle is very popular! :)

Yes we have made it to review stage! It's going to be a few months wait now before we find out whether the Lego Land Rover will be produced.

We wanted to say a big thank you for your support/feedback/encouragement, it has really meant a lot. Fingers crossed now we can get approved for sale in the Lego Shop!
