Posted January 6, 200817 yr Everyone knows which pirates sets practically attach to each other. Which ones everyone thinks of as brothers. However, we should try to discover some selections which aren't so easy to imagine. An idea I had: Pirates: Rock Island Refuge Castaway's Raft Blue Imperials: Carribian Clipper Harbour Sentry Along with smaller sets, to add depth and more on each side. Try to think of set combos which are, for the most part, less obvious. For an example, don't have the BSB and the EF... I'm sure it's been thought of before (and put on a collectors card). If you want, you can put a layout of how everything would display. Edited January 6, 200817 yr by sdpirate
January 7, 200817 yr Governor I always thought a couple of Sabre Islands would work well at the entrance of any harbour, particular where something important like the Imperial Trading Post was located.
January 7, 200817 yr Something like Broadside's Brigg always looked a little too lonely or out of place, for me it's the kind of thing that should be an additional building near to something like Eldorado Fortress. Most the smaller rafts and boats should be near bases or ships because they shouldn't be out in the big blue as a small craft far from support.
January 8, 200817 yr Governor What about Admiral's Launch and the Imperial Flagship. With a few modifications the dingy could be suspended from the stern of the Imperial Flagship as seen with the Skulls Eye Schooner. When the Admiral wanted to do an away mission he could dispatch the dingy.

I can't recall the 'Admiral's Launch' what was it's other name if it had one?
January 8, 200817 yr I thought the Renegade Runner would go nicely with Skull Island. With the pirates loading stuff into the ship etc. A small ship and a small "port". Perhaps this one's a bit too easy. Although adding Rock Island refuge to the two could make a smashing combination. :-)
January 8, 200817 yr You've be looking for the UK/Australian name... 6247 Bounty Boat Yep Bounty Boat is the name I always remembered and funnily enough that was exactly the set I had in mind when you mentioned 'Admiral's Launch' I have no way of checking but likewise I'm guessing South Africa used the same names as Britain and Aus - no surprises there. Good to know when I finally move to Tassie I won't have to buy all new lego catalogues X-D
January 9, 200817 yr Governor Actually I think the wording in the descriptions are different between the UK and Australian catalogue. I remember reading the 89 UK catalogue once and it said something along the lines of"Smashing new sets" and I thought that sounded very British. Definitely not what's written in the Australian catalogue.

I remember reading the 89 UK catalogue once and it said something along the lines of"Smashing new sets" and I thought that sounded very British. Definitely not what's written in the Australian catalogue. So Aus printed their own catalogues? I have a feeling SA didn't, that it was all completely imported from Britain though I can't be sure. Anyway, back to the subject at hand... Harbour Sentry/Bomber Brigadier makes a very neat addition to Eldorado as does the Soldiers boat from Rock Island Refuge/Port Jamaica.
January 9, 200817 yr sabre Island and Eldorado Fortress go well, as Miser Phes said, Sabre Island also looks good at the entrance to a port.
January 13, 200817 yr So Aus printed their own catalogues? Have in the past and still do. I have most from the last 20 years. *wub*
