I don't mind the licensed series (even if LEGO is just licensing their own property), but I wish they'd limit it to one series a year.  I, too, am sick of Batman Minifigs, even though I actually like the LEGO Batman from the LEGO Movie (even though I don't like Will Arnett.)  I'm a City guy, only dabble in the Superhero theme, and I bet I have 6-8 different Batmen.  It sounds like the LEGO Batman CMF series is going to have another dozen+ Batman figures.  I'll wait and see (LEGO always surprises me with how much I end up liking all their Minifigs), but I wouldn't mind taking a series off from feeling the need complete the series.  That could save me $100+

Is it confirmed that the third series in 2017 will be the Ninjago Movie?  Or just stongly assumed?  I've already got too many ninjas in my town.  I can only take so many more.

Indeed. There are so many butterflies out there that I wonder what the wings will look like... they will almost certainly be a new piece. It seems likely she will reuse the Bumblebee Girl's headpiece.

Strongman should be cool. Likely a bald head, maybe a new color variant of the moustache piece... And obviously, some weights to show off his strength.

The Butterfly Suit Girl doesn't need new piece, the Bumble Bee Girl's antennas and wings should work.

With the Pizza Van in City, it would be cool if we have a Pizza Suit Guy.

I made a quick research before posting this (I even made an account there) and it seems the guy is a reliable source. That's why I posted it here. 

 

For the Butterfly Girl, I expect a little girl wearing a costume. New wings piece, because the S8 Fairy wings don't really work for a butterfly. I'm guessing a new hair with antennae. Something like this

For the Circus Strongman, I think he'll be a cost saver. No hairpiece, moustache piece, leopard skin outfit and 2 baby heads as the weights

I was curious whether a circus strongman would show up for some time now. Nice to see the circus theme back.

Meh on the butterfly suit girl. I wonder what accessory she would have, if any - maybe a flower?

For some reason I was absolutely convinced we'd already had a circus strongman, and was wondering why no one was talking about it being a repeat. I think I was conflating the weightlifter and ringmaster from S2.

For the weights, I assume they'd just use the same weights that the weightlifter used? Although black baby heads would be interesting, and more in line with circus dumbbells.

I'm not excited with the butterfly suit girl but if ever it is true, I'm sure it's going to be a big hit like any other costume/suits CMFs.

Out of curiosity, has the mustache piece that we are assuming will come with the Circus Strongman (because let's face it, that is the most logical scenario) ever come in a blond color? I know I have seen brown and, I think, black, but not sure if I have ever seen it any other colors.

Interesting thoughts. I agree that the Fairy wings don't quite work for a butterfly. I'm expecting something larger and more intricate. Not too certain about the new hair with antennae, but with the S14 Tiger Woman, I think that it is a possibility. The picture you provided makes me wonder if she'll have a tutu as part of her outfit, even though butterflies don't wear tutus...

Right now, it only comes in Black and Reddish Brown. I'm hoping for a new color, such as Dark Brown, Tan or possibly Dark Orange?

The weights used for the S2 Weightlifter seem like the most logical re-use for this Strongman, but the Technic ball joints and baby heads are also very plausible...

I would imagine the Strongman would have the mustache in black, as most images I find share that trait.  I'd also expect him to be wearing a striped outfit.

The Butterfly Suit Girl should have a new (printed) wing mold.  I also imagine that this will be a child with short legs, but I hope I'm wrong.

I expect the butterfly to have new wings as well. I don't think she'll be a kid though, more in the line of unicorn girl. With some stars or little hearts printed on her torso. I love that they make insect figs. The human fly is one of my most favorite figs.

The strongman in a striped outfit will be great. It could also be a guy with a leopard caveman like outfit maybe?

Looking at all the previous (regular) series, I think these could be done:

Male --> Female:

• Football player
• Sailer 
• Evil knight
• Aztec/tribal warrior
• Pirate captain
• DJ
• Gamer 
• Valkyrie 

Female --> Male:

• Kimono girl (becomes Japanese nobleman)
• Fairytale Princess
• Superstar

I hate seeing lists like this because when I see them I always think that the final list has been leaked 

But I had to highlight this one... as a Pirate collector, I'd especially love to see a female Pirate Captain... it's something we haven't had yet, and we've already seen a female Bluecoat Soldier. It'd prefer to see a female Pirate Captain in a full set, but getting one as a CMF would be just as good.

As I said, I just find it boring because I feel there is nothing special about it. I love the fact we've gotten a Spartan, Amazon, male and female Samurai, Egyptian warrior and Arabian warriors - to name a few - in the CMF line (I'm personally a "warrior" guy myself) as I believe many of them would never appear in a main Lego line, adding another positive to how unique I feel the CMF line is. By contrast we've had over 9,000 different Batman Lego Figures in the past and I doubt that will change soon so that doesn't make the Batman CMF line unique or interesting to me.

I'm probably going to treat the Batman wave the same way I treated the Lego Movie, Simpsons and Disney waves - if it has a figure I like, I'll get it, otherwise I'll pass. I do believe they showed some interesting/zany variant costumes which could be interesting (Excalibur Batman does look interesting) but they'll have to be something really special to wow me personally. Otherwise, like yourself, I plan to save my money for something else.

Hasn't it been said we're not getting any repeats in this wave? That being said I would LOVE to get all of those figures you mentioned. As someone else who loves pirates, I think a female Pirate Captain would be a great addition, especially if she resembled Ruby Hart from Marvel vs Capcom 2.
