I don't recall that torso nor the legs. Hmmmm but I'm not sure half of me stays untrue because there is nothing special with that. I know there is nothing special at all. Maybe they just want to make one mystery character per series? Who knows, I guess we find out when they officially announce it. Quote
benderisgreat Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Delta customs posted this minifigure, so it should be true. Not that impressive, what was the point of hiding him? Could have chosen better minifigure for secrecy hype. Quote

Ow man, I'm glad not a fan of CMS so I'm not that really hyped to get it. But I trust Lego, they'll tell whats the reason behind of this, Quote
ENDerke Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) I am a little-bit disappointed , but this must be the original one,as I know there is no torso nor legs with that exact print (and that legs are dual-moulded), also I checked the BL minifig heads list and didn't find the same printing on any head. Furthermore that guns, I don't think someone just buy two of the PotC Silent Mary for this joke (I don't mention the cape, because they are easily customisable). Edited April 9, 2017 by ENDerke Quote

froggy95 Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) I like the figure. I think the let down is people were expecting something special and it's not and thus skewing people's thoughts on it. The figure will/can fit into so many different era MOCs (civil war, revolutionary war, English village, pirates, etc). LEGO failed in it's attempt to do something "fun" for collectors. TheLazyChicken Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Am I the only one that actually likes him? His print is perfect for some sort of POTC builds! It is nice to see the gunmetal grey pistols with him too. Quote
gedren_y Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 The face looks a little like the CMF Evil Dwarf. The printing, from what we can see, looks nice. The cape, though, is a new design. I expect that the image may get taken down soon. Eurobricks has strict rules about hosting images of unreleased products. Quote
hoiharry Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 The minifigure reminds me a lot of Bloodborne and I quite like him actually :) Quote

SpiderJazz Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 It's awesome, don't get me wrong. But with the hype TLG building, I don't see anything special about him. That's why I'll wait for the formal announcement when they introduce it. Quote
Ashnflash Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Looks pretty good. Probably pick up for the pistols, because I've only got the ones from the Silent Mary at this point. But nothing too special, waste of time and marketing I think. Quote
makoy Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I think a large majority of AFOLs' expectations are a little bit unrealistic. It's not TLGs fault to lead people that it is special... we all added fuel to the hype machine. Quote
Robert8 Posted April 9, 2017 Author Posted April 9, 2017 I like it, but I would have expected something else since this is "a special secret character" Quote
Yooha Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 LEGO We are good at making toys. We are bad at marketing. Quote

Right, but they gave us the impression that it's a MYSTERY character, following the trend of other mystery fig; Mr. Gold etc etc. 12 minutes ago, Robert8 said: I like it, but I would have expected something else since this is "a special secret character" Lol. I guess secret/mystery is nowhere near special on LTG's vocabulary! Just now, Yooha said: LEGO We are good at making toys. We are bad at marketing. Not that bad, just this one. Quote
LegoShroom Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Are you sure that the head isn't from the series 5 evil dwarf?? Quote

Cagast Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 So Brothers Brick was right when they said the minifig is nothing special. What's the point of making it a 'mystery character'? The face is not from the Evil Dwarf (compare the eyebrows and lower part of eyes), though they do look a bit similar. Quote
ENDerke Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Highwayman maybe doesn't have moustache or beard So we can hope that it is not just a full redesign of the head Quote
Catanas Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I feel the way they have dealt with the highwayman is totally appropriate. He's been hidden in the dark until the last minute, then jumps out and takes your money. Quote

Oh you're not alone; I think he's one of the best in the wave (but then I am very picky on which ones I get and 90% of the "City" ones are an instant pass for me). I can see him working well in my "warriors" display (even though I've avoided gun wielding characters, at least until now). It's a simple design but one I like and I may get a second to try and customise him into an assassin, as I've heard some make the comparison. I think the problem is, as others have said, Lego bending over backwards to hide him for reasons that still baffle me. Quote
K_Tiger Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 He's pretty much what I was expecting. Not disappointed in the least. I'll buy a spare for Sky Piracy purposes. Quote
Littleworlds Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I can't help but with the current price incerease for the CMF, selecting a professional robber as their special character is a bit bad taste Quote
