Richpepperell Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 This seems to be a thread we need as I guess there be a lot of talk about this over the next 2 weeks! From my point of view, I wanted there to be somewhere to gather all the promotional info just so none of us miss out on something (TRU promotions etc). As far as I've been hearing today (from Hothbricks and brickfanatics), here in the U.K. We'll be getting FIVE FO stormie polybags and double points on SW purchases above £60 on S@H. What else do we know? Quote
Bolingbroke Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 lego keeps treating non-americans like bitchez. Quote
RetroInferno Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 (edited) USA and CAN: - Double VIP starts September 30th on Starwars Products only. Double VIP for all sets starts September 1. - Darth Revan polybag offered September 30th only with any lego StarWars purchase via Lego shops and Shop at home. While supply lasts ( I would higly suggest to camp and refresh Lego's online store at Midnight ). - Any Death Star purchase makes you elligible to win ''Escape the Space Slug'' set. Lobot Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 It will be interesting to see if the rumours about the European promo are correct; hopefully we'll receive confirmation shortly. It seems odd that TLG lacks any sort of structured approach to announcements across the globe, not to mention consistency with the actual promotions! I'm not surprised that the FO Stormtrooper polybag may be available though; TLG must have a stockpile of them following a mediocre May 4th, but 5 does seem amazingly generous! I was going to order something in the next couple of days to take advantage of the current £10 discount, but the prospect of this offer is enough for me to wait. On a related note, I've just received a 'VIP' email about 75159; in addition to the 'bundle' discount with 75093, there's another offer: 'LEGO® VIP Members, 18 years of age or older as of the sweepstakes closing date, who are legal residents of any of the countries listed below, may enter to win one of one hundred twenty (120) LEGO® Star Wars™ Escape the Space Slug™ sets when they purchase a LEGO® Star Wars™ Ultimate Collector Series Death Star set, #75159, at a LEGO Store or through Shop.LEGO.com during the Sweepstakes Entry Period' Now, if the Space Slug was included with all sales that might be enough to counteract the £125 price increase from the old one! Tariq j Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 5 FO Stormies sounds amazing! Obviously a regular version would have been better than the May 4th version but it's definitely better than nothing. Quote
Richpepperell Posted September 17, 2016 Author Posted September 17, 2016 I imagine there might be a few disgruntled AFOLs about who ordered the New Death Star on VIP release day. Double points equals a £40 discount, and if the stormie rumour comes through, they've lost out on some good stuff! Quote
Kaijumeister Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Such a shame not to get Revan here in the UK, but not all too surprising. Still, 5 Stormtroopers and double VIP is still pretty fantastic. Quote
ChiefPie Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 I think I'll try to get the revan minifigure. I'll buy the at-st if it's not out of stock. Quote
Exetrius Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Really hope these rumors about the polybag in fivefold turns out to be true. Finally enough to get me to buy the Attack on Takodana set. Quote
makoy Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 I hope there is something equivalent of this promotion in my region. There is no stores that carry VIP points here but I look forward for some freebies like Darth Revan to be available too. Quote
jdm44 Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 (edited) How many Space Slugs sets were initially released? LEGO is only giving away another 120 of them so the expected value of the contest is low and I doubt the secondary market price will drop very much. The Revan minifigure is a nice freebie. Brikkyy13 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Why is nobody questioning the rumor of 5 of the same polybag? LEGO has never given away more than 1 polybag, 5 is completely unprecedented. Quote
jhaelego Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Even though the Revan promotion isn't worldwide, I do have hope that this will decrease the aftermarket price of him. Especially since he's a gift with any star wars purchase. Quote
MaxTube55 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 I think I'll try to get the revan minifigure. I'll buy the at-st if it's not out of stock. That's the exact same set I was going to try and get the Revan fig with myself, I probably will get on the online store at midnight to be safe. Quote
Cwetqo Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 How many Space Slugs sets were initially released? LEGO is only giving away another 120 of them so the expected value of the contest is low and I doubt the secondary market price will drop very much. The Revan minifigure is a nice freebie. Remember that some sources said that "Spaceslug" promotion was not that succesful in some regions (with few or in some cases not even a sigle one AFOLs signing for it) and that at that time TLG issued statement that it will follow the rules and not distribute Space Slug to casual visitor. I guess that left them with some number of Space Slug sets, which will be now distributed as part of this promotion (and help at least a bit to avoid another fiasco - supposedly low initial DS sales - my speculation). Frike Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Will the Darth Revan minifigure be US only? I missed out on it 2 years ago, had it in my cart but was told that they had run out when I finished my order. I have been waiting for something like this so that I can try to get my hands on a (another) Battle Droid Carrier and an Advent Calender. This would be a great opportunity but I'm only interested in the Darth Revan figure. :/ Quote
makoy Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Even though the Revan promotion isn't worldwide, I do have hope that this will decrease the aftermarket price of him. Especially since he's a gift with any star wars purchase. It goes without saying that TLG is trying out new ways to re-introduce "highly scalped" products more to the masses - we've seen more instance of that lately. I do hope that this will drive the aftermarket price down of Revan and force the price gougers to rethink or exit the whole practice altogether. Quote
pittpenguin123 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 So whats the requirements needed to get revan? Im guessing $50 like normal Quote

BenKenobiWan Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 that pushes me over the edge. was going to hold of on Force Friday, but for a chance to pickup a Revan,I guess I'll have to Quote
jimmynick Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Is there any hope the Revan fig will ever be available outside the US? Quote
pittpenguin123 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 So tru is having something for force friday too. Any one know what it is? going to guess maybe one of the minifig promos that havnt been released yet like the B-wing pilot or FO general. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I think it's any Star Wars purchase only on September 30th. Yes, Lego had a promotion like this a few years ago. They rereleased the Jor-El DC promo with any DC Lego purchase. I was able to get said polybag with a keychain. I will try the same here, might grab BB-8. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I was previously unaware of this. Is the Revan minifig the same as the one from 2 years ago? I might try to pick it up. Would you guys recommend going to a Lego store to try to get it with a keychain? I like the idea because I wouldn't have to pay for shipping. Do you think Lego stores will have a good stock of these? My guess is it will be the same as last year, a promotional brick (panel) with a Rogue One print. As for Revan, I'm excited. I hope their supplies are not too limited. Quote
