As above: How big is the 'standard' modular city block? I was thinking of going with a 3x3 block, which would give me an equal number of corner and not-corner modular buildings.

I think its more dependent on your display area and layout size. There is no standard "block".

Even in real life a New York City "block" isnt the same as a Chicago "block" or a San Francisco "block" .

Hope that helps!

but if you want an equal number of corner and not corner buildings :

PC+PS

BB+PR

you can replace GG/FB/PS/PR by TH or DO ;)

You can go as small as 4 corner buildings together. This would be 64 studs x 64 studs, or 25cm x 25cm

After that you can start adding additional buildings between the corner buildings (25cm wide each, or 12.5cm in the case of the pet shop and townhouse).

For the full set of available modulars you have 4 corners and 7 standard buildings. To make it even you'd need to separate out the 2 halves of the Pet Shop set.
