Posted September 28, 20168 yr Land Rover has revealed the New Discovery 5 seven-seat SUV by breaking a Guinness World Record for the largest LEGO structure ever built. The reveal set was made from 5,805,846 individual LEGO bricks, breaking the previous Guinness World Record by 470,646 pieces. Laid end to end, the bricks would stretch for almost 200 miles, or from Tower Bridge in London to Paris. Led by the UK’s only LEGO Certified Professional, Duncan Titmarsh, it took five months for expert LEGO Master Builders in the UK to construct the incredible Tower Bridge structure. It was erected in the grounds of Packington Hall, Warwickshire, UK – close to Land Rover’s Solihull plant, where New Discovery will be produced. See this site for more: Land Rover Discovery 5 Forum
September 29, 20168 yr Ahh... Do I have this right? That is a full size car and human in the lower left of the picture?? WOW, that's BIG!!! It must be nice to have a LEGO room the size of a parking lot. Edited September 29, 20168 yr by Rotundus
September 29, 20168 yr I'm a little confused. Is the only thing made out of bricks the bridge, or does it also include one of the cars?

October 2, 20168 yr I can't help seeing that a little like a waste of parts/plastic what will that structure become after the event?
October 2, 20168 yr Here's a bit more from Top Gear, where I first saw it: http://www.topgear.com/car-news/paris-motor-show/land-rover-breaks-world-record-giant-lego-tower-bridge Look at those giant Lego trees and the elk! Edit: On closer inspection, some of the scenery appears to be giant scale models of existing single pieces rather than being brick-built. I wonder if there are any structural non-Lego bits added to support the vehicles. It seems likely but it would be amazing if there aren't. 6 hours ago, antp said: I can't help seeing that a little like a waste of parts/plastic what will that structure become after the event? I see what you mean; I hate wasting parts too. I'd guess it will be disassembled and the pieces might get used for something else. Perhaps they might just go to some warehouse, which would be disappointing. On the other hand, I'm impressed by the structure, and the publicity, and business it gives Lego. Even if the pieces go to waste, it's a big boost in money and publicity for Lego and Land Rover. Edited October 3, 20168 yr by Bricks On Print
