As you've probably noticed by now, Eslandola is busily engaged in Kolonizing Mardier's Assets.  Temporary structures so far have been set up with wood, but one of the first things on the to-do list is a bit of prospecting.  Mainly what's needed at the moment is a stone quarry, but our prospectors sure wouldn't be sorry to find a little something else...

In fact, one of them thinks he's found a bit of gold already... but ten to one it'll turn out to be fool's gold or maybe just a ring dropped by a native.
Meanwhile, the older hands go about their work steadily.

I think this is one of my first attempts at dark tan rockwork - as you can tell, I really don't have that much. :pir-laugh:  C&C welcome as always!

You do a great job at matching background colors to your builds. This is no exception. The Dark tan turned out but I do sympathize with having to work hard to have enough pieces in that color.

Very nice build, I like the colourscheme and all the tools scattered around!

Thanks Titus!  Scattering tools around was probably my favorite part of this build!  :pir-grin:

Fine - I'd recommend to use a different colour for the background, then the tan rockwork would come out better.

:pir-laugh: Drastic differences of opinion like this are always somewhat amusing.  In this case I think I'd have to agree personally with SilentWolf, that the orange worked decently with the dark tan, but I could see how a more contrasting color might have hit a better note for others.

Thanks to both of you however! :pir-sweet:

The dark tan rockwork looks good to me, and your figure posing is excellent as usual! Here's hoping you strike something useful!

Thanks Capt Wolf!

Matters of personal taste, obviously :pir-laugh::pir-laugh:

I hadn't even read the other comments when I posted. Obviously taste play a role here. Though I could see how contrasts could change the look.

Great prospecting build Kai, the dark tan and burnt orange on the terrain are excellent, and I really like all the tools scattered about and the minifig posing as well!   Judging from the round tiles, there is much more iron/silver/rock there than gold however! :pir-laugh:

Oh, and I think a different color background would probably look better,

Great prospecting scene !

Dark tan is always good colour choice. And it's such a rare colour...

I hope you'll find something useful for our development.

Thanks Faladrin!  Most of my dark tan slopes and wedges come from a few of last years Ninjago sets I believe...

Thank you Garmadon!  I see the ETWC members are ganging up against me...

Building in a colour which you don't have many bricks of is always painful. You did a great job at those dark tan rocks nonetheless.

Background: I think it's harmonic with the dark tan and works well in that way. However for presenting a better contrast of your rockwork to classical grey rockwork another background might have worked better.

The minifigs in action as well as especially all those tools lying around make this MOC fantastic - a great work!

Thanks Elostirion!  Tools and stuff lying around is always one of the most enjoyable parts of an MOC for me.
Stuff lying around is one of the less enjoyable parts of RL though.
