Lox Lego Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 (edited) "Volvo Trucks reset its own two year-old record for heavy trucks with shockingly fast speed runs by its latest track-focused creation, the "Iron Knight." This big rig blasted to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds thanks to its unbelievable 2,400 horsepower." iron knight by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Flicker: https://www.flickr.com/gp/139930963@N04/8xb6HX Video: Dugald has created a custom Iron Knight out of Technic Lego to pull my Ferrari FXX. (Unfortunately this MOC did not blast from 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds ) IMG_9090 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr This build is massive, 31 stud wide x 72 long x 35 tall. IMG_9127 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr The trailer can load and unload the 6 pound Ferrari with a winch and a clever sliding mechanism that slowly lowers the car down. IMG_9096 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr The trailer can switch from the winch to the lowering mechanism with a single switch powered by 1 XL motor. IMG_9100 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr The side panels flip up to reveal the battery packs. The Inline6 is located just behind the cabin. I've got to say, this truck has curves never seen before in Technic Lego truck. IMG_9092 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr This build took a month to create, some of the more difficult aspects to build was the tilt cabin with the working steering wheel and the 2wd - 4wd switch. 2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Cool! For a moment it crossed my mind to build one... Quote
Victor Imaginator Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Looks very close to original. Nice job) Buggy motors or quad pullback maybe will fit nicely this truck. Quote
Charbel Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Wow, this is massive ! You did a great job, I really like how it looks. The trailer can be a bit better if you use 62.4 wheels. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Very nice truck ...and beautiful details! Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Impressive and strong! Good job. Quote

It was a fun build and I only loosely based it on the iron knight so I'm glad it resembles it well enough :). Also there really is so much room under there for just about anything, oh how I wish I had those rc buggy motors though. 18 hours ago, Charbel said: Wow, this is massive ! It's huge, altogether I haven't counted the total stud length but it's probably in the 160 range. As for the wheels, I thought about using them but I wanted to keep the black rims matching the truck. 18 hours ago, LEGO Train 12 Volts said: Very nice truck ...and beautiful details! Aleh Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Wow! It was especially interesting to compare it with my such scale red truck.. Very like the video - looks like you did a great job building this truck! Only what i dislike is there are no double wheels in the rare.. Quote
DugaldIC Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Thanks for the input, 9 fingers, grum64, Paul B, and JJ2 I appreciate it :D It helps me know I'm going in the right direction with my builds! 1 hour ago, Aleh said: Wow! I wish it was a dually at the rear too but I only have 4 of those rims and tires at the moment, also I was trying to copy the Iron knight truck which amazingly is only four wheels as well. Quote
Rishab N Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Fantastic looking truck. Lot of interesting angles Quote

I've been building for around 6 months now and still in the process of stocking up on parts. Now realizing that I have plenty of panels but not a large abundance of randoms, liftarms, connectors and so forth so for now I have to get creative with what I have! Hopefully not loosing what I've learned when I have more to work with haha Quote
AFOLegofan66 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 keep BrickLink busy...and keep building!! Quote
