Phadeout Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 (edited) The Eslandian forces sent to the Prio Seas to make safe a new colony on the island Otoño quickly came to regard the work as dull and uneventful but fervently hoped for it to remain that way, deployments elsewhere seemed destined for conflict and these soldiers knew well how fickle the fates can be in times of war. As the masons brought with them constructed the small defensive position that would initially be their home the soldiers paid little attention to the activity except to remember to look busy when heavy lifting looked to be on the cards. Soon they were in possession of a sturdy fort, lacking in style, sophistication and enough space to swing a cat, which was a shame as rats seemed common. As they settled in to the routine of guard duty the soldiers reflected on their new home. Questions were also raised as to the ability to aim the cannon situated inside the fort, it was noticed that unless an enemy approached completely head on to the guns they wouldn't be firing much at all.. Capt Wolf Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Good job Phadeout! That's a sturdy little battery there. And I hear aiming is highly overrated. But seriously, nice stonework on the fort, and good job working in some red leaves, as Otono is known for its red trees. Quote
Elostirion Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Really cool concept, and it does look like a sturdy fortification that has been built quickly at the shore, without any attempt at looking aesthetic... Which fits well! Great job. The flags directly on top of the lanterns seems even less clever than the cannons, though. ;-) Quote
Franco Clarke Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Nice work, the texture all over it is my favourite part. Quote
Kai NRG Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I agree with Elostirion, looks plenty sturdy at least, and who cares about aim! Really like the bit of rock you've got in the background as well! Quote
