aeh5040 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 (edited) Here is my latest kinetic sculpture. It won the award for "Maddest" MOC at BrickCon this weekend! (The theme of the convention was "Madness"). Enjoy! Edited October 5, 2016 by aeh5040 Quote
JGW3000 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 (edited) 'Tis brillig! Excellent mimsy borogoves. Will make a great desk sculpture. Did you consider using different color connectors? BY the way, I wouldn't mind having a peak at the gear box. Edited October 5, 2016 by JGW3000 Quote
BusterHaus Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Beautiful! I love that the top is only supported by the moving parts. Quote
jono rocky Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I'm officially hypnotized and under you command. The perfect work desk moc. Quote

legosamigos Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Freddie Mercury sang "It`s A Kind Of Magic" and this is like kind of magic But when I saw video, I feel a little drunk after this hypnosis Quote
berrys66 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Definitely gyring and gimbling in the wabe. Awesomely hypnotic and fully deserving of the prize I'm sure. Quote

I did think quite alot about different colors, but it is very hard to find enough of them... Here are a few pictures of the "gear box". It's really very simple... More here when moderated. Quote
AlphaZed Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Hello all, This is fantastic, great work! I've made the .lxf file of this, would you mind If I post it here? Zed Quote

Huaojozu Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 This is absolutely amazing. More than that, it motivates me to try something similar. I just love discovering new things to do with Technic. Quote
AlphaZed Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Once again aeh5040, this is absolutely stunning work! I've decided to build one for myself, so first I've made an LDD version of it. This way it's easier to create a wishlist on bricklink, and building instructions can be made too from the .lxf file. Download it here: http://bricksafe.com/pages/AlphaZed/alphazeds-ldd-files There was only one issue, that I couldn't fit 4 of toves with the top, so I placed 4 axles separately, and also maybe the gear transformation from the motor is a bit different, but should work. Feel free to update the .lxf if you feel so. Keep up the great work! Z Quote
agrof Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Piece of ART. p.s.: Thank You for sharing the lxf file AlphaZed! Quote

They can be downloaded here: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/aeh5040/slithy-toves-kinetic-sculpture You are correct that the geometry is not mathematically perfect. I had to do some faking to make it fit in the LDraw file... Quote
