mutley777 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Lego Star Trek >:-) I don't know if that was ment as a joke TT :-) but i think Star Trek could be a great licence as well. It already has a huge fan base and a lot of collectors (just like star wars). However i also think the star wars line will not end in 2011, as if it did you know that MB would try to snap it up. I don't think TLC or lucas will want this to happen, it would be very bad business. Quote
Piranha Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Hmm 3 more years, lets hope the license is extended again :-D There are so many more sets that can be done, yet not enough time left to see them all. Lego Star Trek >:-) Also not gonna happen(ever) since its not as popular (or as great) as SW. If the license does end in 2011 then- Remember, Glory is forever..... - Forgot who said it :-D :-P Extend On! P Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Lego profits would take a slight plummet and the already out star wars sets would increase even more in value, (though thats a given anyway if they are discontinued..) My guess is that lego would try to buy and extend the license more, as that would be benificial to both corperations. Quote
Palin Jax Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Lego Star Trek >:-) (sways in total shock)Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.... (falls off his chair) :'-( Quote
General Zen Posted January 11, 2008 Author Posted January 11, 2008 If lego even considered making a lego star trek theme, my heart would stop and my liver would burst. Then my lungs would implode and my face will shoot up into the sky like a rocket with anger and disbelief! X-D Quote

Then my lungs would implode and my face will shoot up into the sky like a rocket with anger and disbelief! X-D Well lucky for you, kids don't play with Trek toys lol. Don't forget there's also the live action series coming in 2010 and it's going to be absolutely huge. Quote
Luhan Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I think my reaction would be like: Oh my ********!!!!!!!!!! Argggh!!!! Heart Attack! Every moment I live is agony! Lego! Star Wars! Trapped for ever! Now serious I think and hope they will extend their license. Quote
MiniGreavy Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 At first a little bit OT: Hi Star Wars Fans out there, nice to meet you all. Ok, now back to topic: I'm a great Star Wars AND Lego fan, so I'll be very disappointed/sad when the license will end. I hope Lego is going to extend the license (maybe, if they earn enough money with some old nerds like me ;-) ) Probably we get some really huge and nice models, when the end is near... Quote
darkrebellion Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 I really think that TLC going to extend the license because of all the new material of the new Live Action Series and Clone Wars cartoon. For my part I now collect and focus in the new stuff and plan to complete my collection with the old sets later. Now I have 65 sets in my collection but a little part of them are really old like from 1999 to 2001. MiniGreavy Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I think Lego Star Trek >:-) would be a nice idea. No idea, why so many SW-Fans can't stand Star Trek. But unfortunately this theme is no longer up to date :'-( If the license is not too expensive Lego will surely head for Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit (after or while the two films are in cinema). Must say unfortunately, like Sci-Fi better... Quote
General Zen Posted January 19, 2008 Author Posted January 19, 2008 Man, I sure didn't expect this topic to extend this long! I can tell we as a whole would be really dissapointed when star wars is finally gone out of lego's production. I have a feeling by the time that comes, we will be sick of star wars! X-D Quote
ZoL Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 If the license is not too expensive Lego will surely head for Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit (after or while the two films are in cinema). Must say unfortunately, like Sci-Fi better... Well, I don't think Lego will go for LOTR or The Hobbit because it's not all that easy to make Play able sets like Star Wars. One of the best parts of Star Wars is that it can be both play able and good looking. To all the LOTR fans- I'm not saying that LOTR isn't good, I'm also a fan, but it isn't a good Lego idea. I think Lego will stick with Star Wars for a while, then go on to a non-license theme. Quote
Paradosis Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 While I'm a trekker, and love the possibilities of Lego ships and whatnot, I doubt Lego could get it done properly. It seems like no one else has. Whether it's video games, or tv series, or movies, it seems like the last 10 years are filled with missteps in the Trek universe. Maybe the upcoming movie will get us back on track, but I doubt it. Quote
Looking for a display name Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 (edited) mega blocks will buy the license (lol) no i think lego will extend the license they make millions a day i think from star wars alone Edited January 29, 2008 by Looking for a display name Quote
Belloq Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 When lego star wars ends, my life will go down four different paths: I can either: 1. Go crazy and drive of a cliff with a brrom that has a smiley face drawn on it while we ride in an old white volkswagen beatle (I'm tempted to say a bug :-) ) 2. I'll go crazy (yet again) and carve a smle across my face ( a la Joker in TDK) and I'll paint myself white and clown like (heck, I'll become the new 2008 joker) and I will begin a massive campaign of torture and terror with lots of bomb, and then I'll throw myself of the empire states with a frowny face drawn mop. 3. I'll age happily because I have suffered amnesia and I will go crazy ( insanity is the answer to all questions!!) and have a seagull for a friend and I will live forever because happily deranged people NEVER die (if you've read the great chicken miasma's stories you'll catch my drift ;-) ) 4. I'll live in a sewer until the final prunes that I was short on are added and I become a fruit pie who drives of a cliff in a white BUG with smiley broom, frowney mop, angry sweeper, and nutty vaccum!!!! Nyeck Nyeck NYECK!!!! Lego Star Wars cannot end!!!!! (Lets kidnapp Shigeru Miyamotot (why him, I don't know) and lets ask Lego to never cease pruction of this line as ransom to free him, or we'll bake him into an APPLE pie!!!!!! *sing* Mwhahahahahaha!!! General Zen Posted January 30, 2008 Author Posted January 30, 2008 Trust me, by the time lego lets go of star wars, I bet we will be sick of it! ;-) Lego will extend the liscense until they milk it too much. X-D I like lego star wars, but I bet in time it wil get to be too much. If star wars lasts forever, I will eventually get tired of it. Quote
RememberTheLittleGuy Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Well, figuring that the license ends in 2011 (lest it be extended!!), we'll still have three years, and I imagine-more like hope- that TLC will just dump alot of sets or something big at the end. Where did you get the information stating SW will end in 2011? Anyway, I still keep my hopes up, if you ever read the SW encyclopedia, you'll see there's a whole espanse of SW stuff. Quote

Anyway, I still keep my hopes up, if you ever read the SW encyclopedia, you'll see there's a whole espanse of SW stuff. I do not know the exact source (try using the search button to find the answer!), but I do remember that it was said that the line would extend till 2011. ________________ I already kind of experienced this: Master Replicas had some really great Star Wars items, especially the F/X sabers. But when I heard that the liscenes would run out by January 1, 2008, I was sadned. :-( Trust me, by the time lego lets go of star wars, I bet we will be sick of it! ;-) Lego will extend the liscense until they milk it too much. X-D I like lego star wars, but I bet in time it wil get to be too much. If star wars lasts forever, I will eventually get tired of it. I sometimes use a technique to help keep my interest in Star Wars (Pffft, like that could go away!!!). It's an on-off sort of thing. Go do something else not Star Wars related, come back later, refreshed and excited to play/watch Star Wars!! Quote

Yeah, I'm a trekkie too, but again I think that it's income would suffer. All the younger kids who buy Star Wars will not buy Star Trek as much though I'ld love to se a good Lego Star Trek which would also be hard to properly make. Quote
