Hello,

I was trying to import my LDD file to 3DS max, but everytime when I render the object I get this.

Can someone help me to get this right?

Greetings,

Tom

You'll need to recalculate the normals so that they are facing in the proper direction. Also make sure you don't have any coplanar faces or similar trash geometry as a result of the import process.

How did you pull the LXF into 3DSMax in the first place? I wasn't aware a converter existed.

So there used to be a plugin but I can't find it any more. Also am assuming that you are going through ldd -> Ldraw -> studio max. Make sure you have envy thing closed off and high numb count if that is a whole build. I do one piece at a time, mind you I also use Solidworks...

All normals seem inverted, maybe all that is needed is a (left/right hand) coordinate system correction.

I got a while ago the solution to fix my problem, just copy paste every poly and flip the copy.

yes I use LDD -> leoCAD -> 3ds MAX
