Andrex Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 (edited) Hey, I was browsing across the web, as ya do, and came across these beauties ^^. Apologies if they're kinda big, but I think they do the game justice. There's definitely a dark and mysterious style, fitting to the movies, but it also seems to incorporate Lego Star Wars elements [studs and Minikits!!] :-D. I think this is shaping up to be a great title, especially after the success of previous games! Enjoy! -- Andrex [ex-Lego Star Wars Reporter] Edited January 8, 2008 by Andrex Quote
CopMike Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Looks good *y* ! The houses though seem a bit to non-LEGO compared to the SW games I think :-/! Batman On copmike Quote
Hotshot Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I MOST HAVE DIISS GAME NOW!! But sow long to wait :'-( Quote
Andrex Posted January 8, 2008 Author Posted January 8, 2008 Ah, true about the houses, but I must admit, even in Lego Star Wars, places like Theed Palace were mainly computer generated and not Lego-ised. I'm sure there'll be a lot to interact with :-D I think it's just so that you can't blow up everything. -- Andy Quote
CF Mitch Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 w0000tt these pics look fantastic *sweet* Can't wait for the actual game.... God I'm gonna love it *wub* Quote
Wout Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Wow, this looks good. The greenhouses looks also good. Maybe can tlc make a set of it. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I like the water effects alot. Smooth. Quote
Batbrick Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Thanks very much for these pics Andrex. I love the look of this game, it seems TLC has made it exactly the way I wanted to see it, a perfect combination of the darkness of Batman and lightness of lego. And thank goodness Catwoman is still a jewel theif. I love the shots of Scarecrow, but is it just me, or does Joker look more angry than happpy? Batbrick is Back! >:-) Quote
AgentRick Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 This game and Indiana Jones are going to rule over my Xbox 360 for hours Quote
Siegfried Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 It looks very good! *wub* I need a kids game for my PS3 and my kids will love this..... and I might as well. :-$ Quote
Indy565 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 It looks very good! *wub* I need a kids game for my PS3 and my kids will love this..... and I might as well. :-$ X-O This game looks really cool! I bet this and Lego Indiana Jones will pretty much be the same style as Lego Star Wars. You know, like different doors leading to different levels. I guessing the menu location in Batman will be the Batcave and the menu locatilon for Indy will be a museum or a temple. Quote
Brainbox Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Wow! I kind of like how they've given the Penguin different hands, so as to emulate the films flippers. The Bat-packs, sorry backpacks, are pretty nice too. Gotham looks grim and grimy, with the right amount of darkness, Scarecrow looks nice and creepy, and Catwoman looks strangely attractive. And as for the Dynamic Duo, well... cool as always. It's good to see that the minikits and studs from LSW are still here. Mini Batmobile anyone? X-D Quote
Batbrick Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Wow! I kind of like how they've given the Penguin different hands, so as to emulate the films flippers. Its definitely a "kind-of" thing for me. I don't hate Burtons take on the character, but overall I hate that almost every media incarnation of The Penguin since, have given him some sort of deformity. That said, it does look pretty cool, and the most important thing is that he has retained that "social elite" look. The Bat-packs, sorry backpacks, are pretty nice too. You couldn't resist could you? :-P Gotham looks grim and grimy, with the right amount of darkness, Scarecrow looks nice and creepy, and Catwoman looks strangely attractive. And as for the Dynamic Duo, well... cool as always. I agree, I was afraid that it would end up too light. I'm all for a fun, funny Batman Lego game, but its great to see they've achieved this while at the same time keeping true to the Batman Mythos. Joker looks more angry still, I hope he looks a little more happy in the game. And about Catwoman being strangely attractive, could it be because her pose in her last pic make her seem kind of, erm, "chesty"? :-D It's good to see that the minikits and studs from LSW are still here. Mini Batmobile anyone? X-D Here we go again............ Batbrick is Back! >:-) Quote

I wasn't too fussed on the Burton Penguin really, I just quite like the attention to detail and acknowledgement of the different incarnations [of characters] that the game has given Pengy here. You couldn't resist could you? :-P Hey, look on the bright side. You only have to put up with it on here. My friends at college get it all day, every day. ;-) And about Catwoman being strangely attractive, could it be because her pose in her last pic make her seem kind of, erm, "chesty"? :-D Actually, that wasn't the picture I was looking at, but now that you mention it... Actually, now that you say that, I've definitely warmed up to it. And he does look, dare I say it, cute in that pic. But I'll still remain a bit annoyed that Burtons Penguin still influences so much even today. Again, the interpretation was interesting, but the legacy it left was what annoyed me. Hey, look on the bright side. You only have to put up with it on here. My friends at college get it all day, every day. ;-) :-D We should meet sometime, my friends, and family have simply given up on me always talking about the Two-face psychosis :-D Actually, that wasn't the picture I was looking at, but now that you mention it... Take that back quick! Before you sterotype all Bat-Lego Fans as dateless wonders who check out hot minifigs! :-D Unfortunately, no sign of Manbat yet. I wanted to see him so bad, he's my favourite "guilty pleasure" character, so utterly contrived but I can help but think he's awesome. Batbrick is Back! >:-) Quote

Plural Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 (edited) I was'nt particularly bothered about this game but from these screenshots its looking pretty sweet. *y* I'm wondering how many playable characters there will be as the was a ton of variety character-wise in the Star Wars games but I'm wondering what they will counteract the lack of characters in this game with. Now thats a different kind of guilty pleasure.....hehe Oh wait, I'm not really helping that steroyping thing am I? Its funny until you try to pull you're girlfriends hair out claiming "I just wanted to see what you looked like with a Princess Leia hairpiece on." :-D *wacko* X-D Edited January 9, 2008 by Plural Quote
Andrex Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 Haha, thank you very much for the extra pics, and all the comments ^^. Indeed I also love the darker style. I've not seen all the Batman movies, but I certainly like Tim Burton's take on the mythos - Penguin was certainly a character, with a unique yet creepy charm :-D. I look forward to seeing more on this game. As for Lego Indiana Jones, I take it these are being made by separate teams.. Which do you think will come first? Traveler's Tales seem to be making both, but the publisher is different, especially with the varying licenses. A bit of a contradiction I made there :-/ hmm.. Both seem to be in production, soo.. What do you think? -- Andy Quote
Brainbox Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 This game runs fine on PC doesn't it? I can't afford the likes of game consoles. I think I remember reading somewhere that both it and Indy were going to be available for PC. To be honest I can't imagine why they wouldn't be. Some of us haven't caught up with the technological revolution yet. :-D I'm wondering how many playable characters there will be as the was a ton of variety character-wise in the Star Wars games but I'm wondering what they will counteract the lack of characters in this game with. I suppose there aren't that many heroes to play, no. There's Batman, Robin, Nightwing, probably Gordon, a Batgirl, and possibly Huntress. There's the different Batman costumes as well, so there's a bit of variation there as well. As for the villains, there's probably going to be quite a few. Besides the 'main' villains there're a lot of more obscure/less well known characters like Man-Bat, Mad Hatter, Charaxes/Killer Moth, etc. Assuming this follows the LSW model, these will all be playable after they've been purchased using collected studs. Chances are, we'll get some good vehicle levels as well. Probably all the major Bat-vehicles, or at least the major transport mediums- Batmobile, Batboat and Batwing/Batplane. If this is like LSW2, there may well be some smaller vehicles scattered about the levels themselves, like a Batcycle or a jetski. I wonder if we'll get any bonus-type levels though. Because LSW had the ANH mini-level, and LSW2 had the Bounty Hunter levels, the minikit levels, and a few other bits and pieces. So what will we get here? The minikit thing might be on again, seeing as how we're getting them (at least, we assume that from the presence of the canisters). Maybe a level based on one of the films? Here's hoping for a TDK-themed bonus level. Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Wow, thanks! This game looks good! The new elements are intresting... I wonder when gameplay footage will show up... -ZotS Quote

xwingyoda Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Tks Andy for these sweet pics !! I love Batman & Robin jetpack !! They rock !! The figs are not new unfortunatly, wanted to see some new ones in there but I can wait (or not !!) I really don't mind the fact the buildings are not Lego, it adds to the esthetics I think !! The dark disgusting atmosphere of Gotham would not lok as good only Lego style IMO ;-) Regarding the script of the game, I would imagine it NOT including any missions from BB and TDK for a possible sequel :-P *yoda* Quote
