dr_spock Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 From the last MRCA, the Sea Rats captured a 3A called Dear John. She has been repaired and cleaned up to be licensed as a 3A. A Dear John letter has been sent to the previous owners. It's going to be heart breaking. Dear John Pirate Ship by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Quote
Kai NRG Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Very nice ship dr spock, I like how you did the furreled sails! Not a huge fan of the fence pieces you used (they don't look very pirate-y ), but on the whole she looks fun to mess around with! And I'd imagine she'd do well disguised as a Corry. Quote
Kwatchi Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 (edited) Nice little boat you have there. The furled sails is something I like and I might steal for an ongoing project. And glad you got it in under the wire! Edited October 15, 2016 by Kwatchi Quote
Capt Wolf Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 i like it. I'm a fan of the furled sails, and the fencing on the main deck really adds something to the ship (although I'm not as fond of the picket fencing). Clean color scheme, full sail plan. Good job repairing the prize! Quote
SilentWolf Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I like the color scheme. The white really works well. The furled sails are a great technique that I think adds a lot of character to ships in general and this one in particular. At first glance the usage of fences for the railing looks great. Once I study it a little while I am not as sure of the picket and chain link fences. But it definitely gives a great first impression so I'm torn on the concept. Quote

Had to make sure Sea Rats could make use of it for nefarious purposes. On 10/15/2016 at 8:12 AM, Kai NRG said: Very nice ship dr spock, I like how you did the furreled sails! Back to the shipyard for MODs. The picket probably doesn't work that well outside of a LEGO Friends ship. The ship came like that and I'm sticking to that story. Those curved pieces came from the Pick A Brick wall recently if I recall. I think they worked pretty well in the furled sail experiment. Quote
ArchitectureFan Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Fine ship with great new approach to sails. And I have detected a monkey. Maybe you should tell Captain Braunsfeld that there is one! Quote
