daoudbazaar Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Hey Colonel ! I do enjoy that TLG do put neither political nor religious symbol on its toys especialy for the fact it targets children. I don't mind you as an AFOL try to add nazi's or USSR's flag to your MOCs and share them on this thread and that said, you do a great job for those who are interested. Personnaly, LEGO models are not sharp enough in representing historical facts (uniforms, vehicules, etc...) in scaled size to need some swatiska on flags, train coachs, soldaten shoulders etc. What's so ridiculous is one could do an MOC of a gay parade which is not acceptable to everyone but it wouldn't get any protest because it's on the good side of the politically correct line whereas the nazis aren't. *n* I do mind you compare gays and nazis, and feel a little bit sad with all of your comparisons and scale of value. It's not the number of victims that matters, its the reason for what they were killed. Remember Nazis (but I could also say red khmers, some tribes in africa, aso) carried on genocids and kill people only because they do exist. The very reason only a few might be offended is that most of those that could have been offended has been killed :-P Some of us protest and tell you their point of view, and you don't agree but you are still free to do it and share with others, so please, stay polite and respectful. X-D Hey martyr, if you really don't care about people offended, what about doing a MOC with Mahomet, Colonel ? Quote
Hinckley Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I would hate to have to close this thread because you guys can't discuss your political views in a respectful manner. This site is about a similar passion for a hobby, the politics talk doesn't belong here. Take it to MSN if you really need to talk something out amongst yourselves. Any more discussion about this in this thread will result in it's closing and the possibly the offending member's chambering. I have no problem with people expressing their views on Eurobricks, but: Keep discussion respectful-everyone has a right to their own opinions and beliefs. Keep debate relevant-don't blow the issue out of proportion and don't ruin the thread with continued baiting. Don't stray too far off topic-take it to MSN or a community topic if you really need to go on for pages. Quote

Lord Of Pies Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 *On topic* How long does each flag take you on average to make Col. Whipstick, just out of interest? Thanks :-) Quote
Col. Whipstick Posted January 12, 2008 Author Posted January 12, 2008 *On topic*How long does each flag take you on average to make Col. Whipstick, just out of interest? Thanks :-) That's a good question, admittedly most are modified versions of one another... I would probably say around an hour per flag, lot of playing around and reading up on wikipedia. Quote
MrCustomizer Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Neat flags I don't have the fabric to print it out on :'-( Quote
Section8 Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 The vertical banner that was mentioned is this piece. Unfortunately the only solid colors made are yellow and dark grey. Quote

Col. Whipstick Posted January 20, 2008 Author Posted January 20, 2008 Neat flags I don't have the fabric to print it out on :'-( These weren't really designed to go on fabric, rather on the hard white plastic pirate flags used in official Pirate Lego sets. You print the design out onto stickers and then place them onto those pieces. Quote
