mutley777 Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Vader will apear in the PS3 version of the game and Yoda will be in the Xbox version. Trailer here Quote
Siegfried Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Yeah, it's pretty cool news. I bought my PS3 largely for Soul Calibur IV so it looks like I will be playing Vader soonish. :-P I'm a Soul series fan back from when it was called Soul Blade. Siegfried is my favourite character. X-D Quote
meschepers Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Snap. That looks amazing. That's another game I need to remember when/if I ever get a PS3. I'd have to say my favorite character is Rock. Quote
dunamis Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 That's cool! Can't wait to play it on the 360. Quote
mutley777 Posted January 12, 2008 Author Posted January 12, 2008 I hope it's XBOX 360 as it isn't coming to the old one. 8-| My fault, it is the 360 :-) . Quote
Eothein Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 (edited) It's slightly strange to see them but it's a still a cool idea although I hope they don't make Yoda as fast as he is in the movies as he could run rings around the other characters*. I thin it's a shame that Yoda is the 360 exclusive character as I would have preferred Luke or even Anakin since their style of fighting is more in line to the series. Plus he just isn't as bad megablocks as Vader, no disrespect to our very own Yoda of course. *Pun not intended since if it were intended is would be god-awful. Lord Of Pies Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Looks pretty cool, playing as Yoda will be funny! I have played Soul Calibur games several times and I enjoyed it very much! Quote
yoda601 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 This is great! I loved Soul Calibur II and III. I wonder if there's character customization again? You'd be able ot make someone with a lightsaber :P Quote
Siegfried Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I wonder if there's character customization again? You'd be able ot make someone with a lightsaber :P From what I have heard, yes. Supposedly you will also have more flexibility in the fighting style as well. Quote
zero1312 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Looking good. *wub* Too bad I don't own a PS3 or XBOX 360. :-( Quote
Zarkan Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Okay, putting Link in the gamecube version of the previous Soul Calibur was one thing, but this is just FREAKY. *wacko* Still, it's pretty cool, and I'm sure a lot of starwars fans will buy the games just for those exclusive characters. I guess that's all it is then: a marketing ploy. :-P Quote
Scouty Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I hope it's XBOX 360 as it isn't coming to the old one. 8-| I meant the 360, but didn't feel like writing it X-D . Quote
Siegfried Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I meant the 360, but didn't feel like writing it X-D . Well look where that got you; in the end you had to write it anyway! Let this be a lesson to you! ;-) Quote
Scouty Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Well look where that got you; in the end you had to write it anyway! Let this be a lesson to you! ;-) But I did not write 'Xbox', thus not completing the circle (or box)... You'll never catch me writing 'Xbox 360'! ...Darn :-P Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I'm looking forward to kicking Vader's megablocks with the almighty Kilik :-D Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I'm a sucker for games that let you customize your characters. Even if it didn't have Vader, the custom function is enough to make me take a second look at possibly getting a PS3. I was pretty impressed with the youtube videos people made with Soul Calibur 3... there were pretty convincing creations of Castlevania : Symphony of the Night characters. Quote
Brickadier General Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Why, I remember back in the day when all we had was good old Soul Calibur and none of these new fangled characters from other franchises. lol Seriously though, it is kind of cool that they do that but they are kind of out of place, and I don't think that the series needs them to sell games. Even Soul Calibur 1 for the Dreamcast still looks and plays fantastic today, and it didn't have any. I also kind of find it annoying that in Super Smash brothers they throw in a couple characters from other franchises like Sonic. Personally, I think if they're going to do that then they should at least make a Nintendo vs. Sega fighting game with an equal number of characters from each franchise. I think it would do really well sales-wise, not to mention that it would be symbolic of the old 90s console battle between Nintendo and Sega. Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 It also has ToS' Lloyd right? Man, I need to get this. Quote
