Bricks Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 (edited) Who thinks that there could be a back to the future liscence. The sets really could be a great addition to any collection. Some sets could be building from the small town in the first one and you can hook them all together to make the complete town! Plus the minifigs would be great. I mean who wouldn't want some 50's figs? I think such a topic is really unuseful! If everyone would open a topic like this: ''Who want to see a.....theme?'' We would have to much topics. So please EB-Team members, can someone move this to the topic in the general discussion. I know there is already a topic, where you can say what you like to see in TLC future! hewkii9 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I believe you're looking for this topic. And as it's a dream license, it'd go in Lego Licensed, anyway. Quote
WookieeWarrior Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Do kids today even have a clue what "Back to the Future" is? Quote
SWMAN Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 While I love the movies, I don't think that there would be enough sets that wouldn't be repetitive with the same characters. Also, I don't think a lot of people today know what it is. Quote
RyDub Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I love the back to the future movies but i think the ship has sailed with that since the movies were released back in the late 80's and early 90's most kids today wouldn't really buy it. But i do think Lego could capitalize on the idea. It would be so easy to create a time traveler set. Similar to the Agents set but one side would be a group of guys or even aliens trying to time travel and steal things from the past (money, valuable artifacts and all) and the other team would be a police force who tries the maintain the balance in the past and stop the thieves from getting away with anything. Justin Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 While I love the movies, I don't think that there would be enough sets that wouldn't be repetitive with the same characters. Also, I don't think a lot of people today know what it is. I sure hope that next year's 25th anniversary of Back to the Future becomes a success. Who knows what might happen? There are quite a lot of fans, presumably in their twenties and thirties that like BTTF and its sequels, cartoon and ride at Universal Japan. I doubt that might happen right now. Maybe someday, when they reach a deal with Universal Pictures to license Back to the Future, Jaws, and a few other Universal properties. Like Doc Brown said: The future isn't written yet. No ones has. The future is whatever you make it, so make it a good one! I'm sure we'll all make the future a good one if we keep LEGO in business, by buying new LEGO sets. LEGO Time Cruisers 'kind of' had a Back to the Future-type concept, as well as their evil reality-bending counterparts, the Time Twisters. Quote
Siegfried Posted March 24, 2009 Author Posted March 24, 2009 I can't see it happening... and I'm merging this. Quote
Oky Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 As many have said, BTTF is a bit dated and kids today probably don't know it, so it's unlikely. But, boy, would it be awesome to have such a theme! I could totally see a set like this happening: LEGO Time Cruisers 'kind of' had a Back to the Future-type concept, as well as their evil reality-bending counterparts, the Time Twisters. Yeah, and unfortunately, that theme didn't do too well either, I think. I liked it, though. Quote

jonwil Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 My wishlist: Ghostbusters. Minifig ecto-1, Ghostbuster figs, Slimer, Stay-Puft, Firehouse, Art gallery with stickers for the art, moving Statue of liberty. Although all those ghosts would be expensive to make. Back To The Future. Not just the DeLorien but the settings. The wild west saloon. Doc and the bad guy in the gunfight (with the revolver piece). The casino from the second movie. The school dance (Lego Saxophone anyone?) Oh and they HAVE to make the steam train from the third movie (not the western one, the time machine one with all the gizmos and stuff) More world buildings to go with the statue of liberty, Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, Sears Tower etc. How about a Sydney Opera House (would have made a great set to go along with the anniversary of its construction). Or the Petronas Towers. Or the Sphinx. Or the pyramids (think of all those tan slope bricks). Or the Colosseum in Rome. Or something like the forbidden city in china. Or Big Ben in London. Or the Tower Of London As for more cars, forget the Mustang, Corvette all the way (GM > Ford). Although a Corvette might be too close to the Ferrari sets. Quote
PMJ Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Want proof the universe hates you? (And me)MegaBloks Halo sets. For serious. Oh, god. No. NO. NOOOOOOO!!!!!!! This is horrible, horrible just horrible. I am a HUGE Halo fan, and a HUGE Lego fan and a HUGE anti-Megabloks fan! This is terrible NOOOO! (Okay, I'm done now.) Quote
Brad-The-Brick Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Super Smash Bros. Lots of great opportunities there. Here are some set ideas:Classic Battle Pack: Includes Link, Kirby, Mario, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Samus, and Fox w/ accessories. Hyrule Castle: Includes Link, Zelda, Ganondorf. Final Destination: Includes Mario, Kirby, Pikachu, and Link. Villains Battle pack: Includes Bowser, Ganondorf, Mewtwo, and Meta Knight. Subspace bomb factory: Includes Prime Minister, Fox, Yoshi, Shiek, Peach, and Marth, subspace gaurds Subspace: Includes Taboo, Lucario, Ike, Wario, King Dedede, Luigi, Pokemon Trainer By the way, only real licensed themes belong in this forum. That would be so awesome! Only Meta Knight is neutural, not a villan. Quote
Justin Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 LEGO Scooby Doo! The Mystery Machine: Includes Scooby Doo, Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, Velma Dinkley, Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, and Scrappy Doo. Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle: Includes Shaggy, Scooby, and the Fright Knight. Quote
Hellingly Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I would absolutely love a Red Dwarf theme. They would have to do Red Dwarf itself in micro-scale, but they could do a minifigure scale Starbug. Quote
jifel Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 It is nearly impossible, but I would love a lego Horus Heresy liscence, with a Vengeful Spirit Playset, although Lego may need to do something to the normal minifig to make Space Marines taller. Still, put teeth on their feet as boots and Shoulder pads, plus Helmets, should make them significantly taller than a normal man. (no idea how they would do a primarch, though...) Seriously, that would be amazing... Other themes would be Halo, of course, although that is almost impossible with stupid Megabloks. Then again, Lego had the spiderman liscense, but later Megabloks did, so the reverse is possible where lego could retrieve it from certain crappiness and doom. jifel Quote
Pie108 Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 (edited) Hi I am wanting to know what you think abut halo LEGOs. I know crappy meagablocks has the license but If they could get it do you think LEGO would take it? What sets would you want? Would you even buy any sets? And other general Halo LEGO ideas. Thank You Edited October 29, 2009 by Pie108 Quote

I know crappy meagablocks has the license but If they could get it do you think LEGO would take it? What sets would you want? Would you even buy any sets? And other general Halo LEGO ideas. Thank You Well, I don't really know what halo is other than a video game. I don't think they should come out with halo, but Romans and Greeks, and western. Sorry Quote
prof1515 Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I've played the game and found it very shallow and uninteresting. There's not much reason to think a Lego line with this theme would be anything better. Quote

Sorry Well, if you look at my icon picture it's of the main character of Halo named Master Chief (spoiler if you didn't finish the game) His real name is John 117 and I don't mind what you posted but please don't talk about Romans and Greeks all that much because there is another thread for that. Thank You! Quote
kill will Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Oh god... Probably the 50th Halo related thread? Before MB got the license, there was a very slim chance of Lego Halo, considering it's rated M and Lego is a family friendly company. But now that MegaBloks has the license, there is NO possibility of Lego Halo. If you don't already know, Brickforge makes some very good Lego compatible Spartan armor. Quote
