-Rob Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I've played the game and found it very shallow and uninteresting. There's not much reason to think a Lego line with this theme would be anything better. Thanks man, I feel better now that you said something. That guy is going on my "Ignor" list. Quote
Pie108 Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Oh god... Probably the 50th Halo related thread? Sorry if I did something wrong but I searched halo on this forum and couldn't find anything. Also I know about 5 2nd graders who like halo and alot of other kids 9-15 who like them. Couldn't it just be a little mature theme for LEGO but they can still do it? That guy is going on my "Ignor" list. You talking about me? That's not nice. There's not much reason to think a Lego line with this theme would be anything better. And why not? I know some people who hate Star Wars movies but LOVES the legos. I've played the game and found it very shallow and uninteresting. As I kind of said earlier there are 3 games that were all best sellers! Quote
Dunjohn Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 There are a lot of people who adore Halo, a lot of people who plain don't like it, and a massive number of people in between. To each his own... My own would be reasonable interest. I played the first game to death, enjoyed the second one, and never actually played the third one at all. The "mature" argument has nothing to do with Halo's audience, it has to do with Lego's. The kind of full on violence of the Halo universe would be way out of line beside other Lego products, even the most combat+oriented ones like Exo-Force and Agents. Thatąs not a criticism of Halo, it's just stating the obvious. Mazbe Mega Bloks can get away with itł I don't know much about their marketing plan. The fact that Mega Bloks does have the licence means that Lego Halo has moved from having a snowball's chance in Hell to no chance at all of happening. But IF.... Iąd like to see Lego's take on the Ghost. Iąve always loved the look of the vehicle and I think the Mega Bloks one looks awful. Quote
BearHeart Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Your alone on that. Lol, actually he's not... I agree with him. Quote
WhiteFang Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Hi I am wanting to know what you think abut halo LEGOs. I know crappy meagablocks has the license but If they could get it do you think LEGO would take it? What sets would you want? Would you even buy any sets? And other general Halo LEGO ideas. Thank You Topic is merged in this discussion. Please continue to discuss it in here. Thanks. Quote
kill will Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Thanks for merging this thread WhiteFag, It was much needed. I have all 3 Halo games, but I got tired of them fairly quickly. I don't really care for the Halo franchise in general, but the first two games were fairly good. Quote
Bob Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 Thanks for merging this thread WhiteFag, It was much needed. Anyway, as it has been said before, It's highly doubtful that any sort of Halo Licence will be made. MegaBloks has it, and since Halo is rated M, for Mature, it's even less likely. It doesn't matter how many kids that are young like it, it just won't be made. You can't relate it to Star Wars, since that's rated PG-13 and PG. I myself have never played the games, I just didn't have an interest in them. Quote
Eskallon Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I can't remember if I have posted here before but here is my dream liscence. Lego Lord Of The Rings It would be an amazing license and could even replace the castle line if lego wanted. Plus with The Hobbit movie coming in 2011, it gives lego time to design majorly cool sets. Quote
BearHeart Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I've always wanted to see a Nintendo Mario Bros. LEGO license with all the characters and themes from the Mario games. There is enough characters and settings for a good 3 - 4 year run and then maybe a year of Zelda sets to follow. Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Since Lego has signed the Ben 10 deal with Time Warner, maybe other Warner Bros/Cartoon Network shows could come along Batman : the brave & the bold, Bugs Bunny & Daffy Duck or even Transformers Animated. All would make great sets for all ages. Quote
wooootles Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Anybody mention World of Warcraft yet? It can basically have Castle-like theming elements, as well as Wild West and haunted themes for buildings. Also, they have siege engines and demolishers, which are basically tanks. Quote

allanp Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 ROLLER COASTER TYCOON! Just think of it. The are countless rides on which you could base smaller sets, each one of these smaller sets could include a small kiost (for food, drink, inflatables and so on) and then for the big sets, oh yes, roller coasters! The track peices would be probably 6 wide with a 2 wide hollow centre spine and very similar in design to those found in roller coaster tycoon and would just snap together using technic fricton pins in holes in each end. Other accesories (probably lego exclusive) could be stations with que lines and scenery and extra cars to make the train longer. There is sooooooo much you could do with this. Soooooo many sets that could all come together in a giant, fully functional theme park. Quote

You get the rides, the miniland, the food kiosks, the gift shop. It would be a perfect oppertunity. Plus all the sets are modular Quote
Batbrick Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Justice League, TLC would never run out of sets to produce, we could even get Wonder Woman's invisible jet made from trans pieces! Batbrick Away! Quote

Rick Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 That's a great idea I really like it and the best thing is it doesn't even have to be licenced Lego could just make it anyway without the added costs. That may not be so straight forward, because TLG doesn't own the parks anymore. But maybe they retained the rights to the concept of certain rides. Anyway, theme parks may be generic enough to be produced without a license (only specific rides may have to be licensed). Quote
robuko Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 (edited) I have some old cartoon ideas - none of which is likely but - Mysterious Cities of Gold - the golden condor would be a good set, there could be a good shipwreck or two, and some pyramid action Dogtanian and the 3 Muskehounds - the return of Fabuland! Yatterman - giant mecha dog would look great in lego Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Galaxy Express, Battle of the Planets would be great for minifigs, but the vehicles would probably be too big, same for Star Trek Discworld series - not many vehicles but it could work as a Mediaeval theme Miyazaki films - Laputa, Porco Rosso, Nausicaa would be great for steampunkers Peter Pan - evergreen and lots of playset potential Wallace and Gromit some of the Japanese themes other members have mentioned have already been done by clone brands, complicating the picture for lego - Diablock has Hello Kitty, Transformers and Evangelion, and Megabloks has Gundam It would be nice to see some detective sets - Sherlock Holmes, Poirot, Miss Marple, Life on Mars - with nice old buildings and vehicles otherwise, Final Fantasy (especially VII), Kingdom Hearts, Ghostbusters, Back To The Future, Pirates Of The Caribbean (another old megabloks license), Marvel, James Bond, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, Transformers all get my vote. I guess old movies are not going to happen except in our dreams and MOCs. 2010 movie tie-in opportunities include Alice in Wonderland, Iron Man, Shrek, Robin Hood, The A Team, Predator, Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets), X Men - any of these could have potential if they are not too violent. JeffD984 Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Planet of the Apes and Beneath the Planet of the Apes would be great! Quote
Lord Admiral Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 2010 movie tie-in opportunities include Alice in Wonderland, Iron Man, Shrek, Robin Hood, The A Team, Predator, Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets), X Men - any of these could have potential if they are not too violent. I think the only ones that would qualify are Alice and Shrek. The general Robin Hood idea was and may again be covered by a subtheme of Castle (elves?). The others are a little too violent. It's amazing how violence is completely marginalized in the US, versus how glaring it is to Europeans. Quote
hollisbrick Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 I would love an Avatar re-boot. With the whole movie comming out and all I think it would be a great oppertunity for TLG. And there are still so many possibilities that they could do. And also the two sets they actually released were really good and detailed! And I wouldn't mind a Halo license. Abd it's not like people having been saying that for like, ever! Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 I'd like more super hero themes, which technically LEGO could do because Disney does own Marvel Comics now. Quote
Omicron Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I guess old movies are not going to happen except in our dreams and MOCs. 2010 movie tie-in opportunities include Alice in Wonderland, Iron Man, Shrek, Robin Hood, The A Team, Predator, Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets), X Men - any of these Iron Man and X-Men would not be potential at the moment considering the Marvel license is currently held by Mega Bloks, and if Lego still has the DC license, they certainly don't have licenses that compete with one another (meaning can't have DC and Marvel at the same time). -Omi Quote
Torax Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 LEGO The Matrix? Wouldn't it be cool? Just imagine the minifigs! And there would be an APU! And maybe a huge Zion playset! And a sentinel...! And a playset featuring the battle scene just after Neo visits the Oracle, and thousands of Smiths keep attacking him. It would consist of Neo, a bar, at least 10 Smith minifigs, a park bench, and two small building where the agents can come from! Those ships the humans use use! Small set: Trinity + Motorcycle + Agent Just imagine... Quote
BearHeart Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 How about a Simpsons license. Every building and character from the show could be released and you could make your owns Simpsons town. Quote
