Simply awesome. They could reintroduce these incredibly successful light-up minifigs for this.

That would be a great idea!

OmiGod, where can I get this? It's Tron, it's really him (passes out from bliss)...

Now which one is the aprils fools....? Both? Now this is kind of clever.

Hmm.. another one Sieggy

:oh:

Steamboy is very cool!

I support this 10000000% :D

Just checked out the trailier for this new film and I could see Lego racers doing some of the racing stuff which would be quite cool !

But this one is April Fools, knew it but I still checked no merchandise is planed at the moment according to Wikipedia - but it's not 17th Dec. 2010 yet and we have no idea what Lego has in store for 2011 right ?

I'm a conformist! everyone ! :sweet:

Hmmm, not Halo. Megablocks do it well, and I am happy with Brickforge. I wanted to say Warhammer 40K but that would be quite hard I expect.

Realistically I think Doctor Who would be excellent, especially since the new series looks excellent. Oh and a Transformers theme would be interesting if nothing else.

If that's real, that's awesome. :classic:

Wow, lego Tron, if that actually comes out its gonna kick big behind!

Very cool looking! Be even better if it was definitely real...

I just noticed the Tron picture. What a theme that would be! Or should I say, will be?

I fear if it is true, the bikes could be rather mega blockish, but I would trust Lego to do a good job.

If the HALO license is real, LEGO needs to take the guy who designed the Mutt Williams bike in Indiana Jones and let them design the Light Cycles.

EDIT: That should have read "TRON license" not "HALO license"

Oh that's a photographers dream!

There would be no way Lego would make tron(Personally i would love Lego that lights up on vehicles, minifigures, etc  ). But after seeing the trailer it would be a little violent for Lego. :sceptic:

Especially with the one person using that circle thing they carry to decapitate other racers.

Again, nice try walrus. The timing is what makes it worse.

Good Tron april fools guys.

Since Tron is a Disney Film I think lego wouldn't have a problem getting a license and It would be a very good theme, Although I don't think lego would keep it very long like they did with speed racer.

I think it would be excellent for Disney/Lego to make Tron sets, especially since a new cartoon series is in the works, as well as another sequel. I seriously doubt that Tron would be any more violent than Prince of Persia or Pirates of the Caribbean. This is of course a Disney family movie.

There will be a high demand for Tron toys/merchandise come December 2010, so it would be wise for Lego to be apart of that!

Is that true?Lego-Tron?Great.I saw a trailer of the new movie about a month ago and see a little bit of the old one,and it i think it will be a great license.

It's April Fools day, silly!

Very nice looking though! I would love it!

Tron is no more violent than Star Wars and people getting their arms chopped off, or being cut in half. So in this case Violence has nothing to do with this theme not coming to age.

Not sure if this is real or not, but a tron theme is defenatly doable. Still holding out for a General Motors, or Chysler theme. So many vehicle poibilites there!

LEGO donuts!

Nice try walrus, but today it's april 1st!

It would be nice as a license, but I doubt it's ever going to happen.

Hehe, nice. Good job to whoever made that, even though the head needed a bit more work. I just watched the original movie and I must say that a TRON theme could be neat, especially with all the new vehicles they want to introduce in the new movie.

Hey! Here's an idea: Why don't we have a TRON set design contest? :sweet: Maybe at the end of the year after Legacy comes out.

As for car licenses, I would love to see the new Ford Mustang made into a set!

If that's real, that's awesome. :classic:

I let myself get a little excited for a second, until someone mentioned the date. I'm anticipating the movie, and I think it'll do well, esp given the nostalgia factor for older fans who remember the original. I'd love to see sets, and moreso, a LEGO video game based on the old and new movies. Also, LEGO have produced some very intricate and complex circuitry patterns on figs in the past (UFO, for one), and with a little glow-in-the -dark paint, I think they'd be full of win.

Still, if LEGO were making sets for this, I think we would have seen at least preliminary images. Hope I'm wrong, and we get a nice TRON-ful surprise this fall.

I haven't been able to think of any other dream Lego licenses other than Pirates of the Caribbean. I love the films (mostly), and in the absense of a proper pirate theme, this would be almost as good.

I guess if I were going to include dream licenses that are never going to happen, I'd suggest Order of the Stick Lego as well. I love the comic, and a Lego-built Dungeons & Dragons world would be awesome. Of course, where POTC seems quite likely to happen next year, OOTS Lego is at the far end of the impossible spectrum.

You're killing me Siegfried. I so desperately wanted real Tron figs...
