I've read numerous times in this thread that they wouldn't make themes reminiscent of video games, why? Granted I've never seen one, but it never occurred to me either. Yes, this is an honest question cause I never read/heard that before reading it here.

Well the way I see it LEGO uses the medium of video games to pormote it's building toys (LEGO system) not it's building toy to promote video games... if that makes sense.

I can't see what a video game theme would do for LEGO sure they would sell some units but ultimately the game scores the publicity.

LEGO encourages creativity and imagination where as very few video games do, so I don't see the conection.

I'd love to see my favorite video game characters come to life in Minifig form but it's just not good business for LEGO.

That is one of the reasons. Another reason can play into this, is that Lego doesn't license competing parties (for example, if they have DC, they will no do Marvel, and vice versa). So say if Lego ever did Halo, they cannot do Mario.

Pardon me saying so, but when you post in a topic everyone can read it so everyone can reply to it as well. :hmpf:

Anyway back on topic, only last night I started watching 'Things To Come', a classic sci-fi film from 1936. In it you can see where Mad Max II came from, but it's the tanks which are AWESOME in it (might MOC one actually). So my suggestion now is Classic Sci-Fi, rocket ships from Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, etc., and I mean classic pre-1960's space ships and weapons with minifigs.

Keep on suggesting !

Yeah, they do sound the same, plus the posts are similar. For example, they posted in this thread and suggested South Park and Total Drama. I thought the mods could find a way to see if someone made multiple accounts? Sorry for just coming in here like this, but some people just sound like brats. :hmpf_bad::hmpf:

And of course LEGO wont do licensed video game sets because:

For like, every licensed theme, they made a video game and that would compete with the non lego video game. Back on topic.

I would like to see a LEGO

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Battle LA (though I think a little too violent to be a theme)

Ranger's Apprentice (it's a book line and I could see some very top notch sets)

I've got a bad feeling about this!

Would we get a sparrow and more witches?

Anyway, Battle LA would be cool, get some official soldiers in some nice looking camo, but yeah, too violent of a movie for a LEGO theme. Ranger's Apprentice is a possibility.

Though I haven't read the books, a good theme could be the Alex Rider books. Would probably sell well with the kids. Diary of a Wimpy Kid may also do well.

Alex Rider would make an amazing Lego theme, the books are quite popular AND there was a film :D And Lego has done lots of secret agent themes before, so why not give Alex a go?

I'm not so sure about Wimpy Kid, I think it would fit into the City theme, don't you think?

Well, I could see that, but when you think about it, couldn't any LEGO theme be in City? Star Wars would be the people who make up the 501st and dress up, Harry Potter same thing, Indiana Jones as part military contractor group and musuem curator, etc.

Oh, now my turn for a crazy suggestion.......

SNIP

Nothing else to add there.....keep on suggesting !

Haha I loved that show when I was kid! So many ideas for sets. I can see BreakJaw's helmet or some sort of variant as Jimmy's braces  Eddy would have the short stubby legs, maybe get a nice new bike, the possibilities are endless!

I don't tink LEGO would do Adventure time, considering the fact that it can, at times, be very rude. Good ideas for sets though!

Yep, I agree. This show is a PG rated one, plus the scenes and characters lend to being only Duplo style anyway.......I highly doubt it.

I am going to make myself heard: TRON. Very much. Please?

I know it has been suggested before, but it must be done! (If it hasn't been suggested, what is wrong with you people?)

Plenty of cool sets to be made, even more cool boxart to be done. Limited new parts needed the only issue is possible printing, but they are making a stellar effort in the CMs, so it can be done with what they have.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a lightcycle myself.....but sadly I don't think the new movie was a boxoffice hit so Disney went kid friendly with Lego with Cars2 and POTC (kids love pirates  ).

How about a wild idea like fusion of DC comic characters with Marvel characters - Iron Man fighting along side Batman !

Suggest On !

I would love to see TRON sets, especially if they had some new light up elements!

Percy Jackson sets would be pretty interesting too
