Macross! Transforming valkyries FTW!!

I don't see it ever happening, however. It's a niche anime series, and it's fettered by ongoing litigation between Harmony Gold, who claim rights to all things Macross in the US, and the series' creators in Japan. It's an unhappy, and downright expensive, situation for Macross fans in the US. I'd be Bricklinking like crazy if TLG did a limited run in Japan and Europe, however.

Did you know that the designer for the VFs used lego to figure out the transformation scheme for his mechs?

+1 on BTTF--and maybe old-school Knight Rider? (UCS original Trans Am-based KITT for the WIN!)

Heck, why not a UCS line of vehicles from pop-culture? (Imagining KITT and the General Lee side-by-side...) Kids wouldn't be nig on it, and it'd be almost all big sets, but a line based on Dale Brown's novels could be kinda cool too. (Minifig-scale hotrodded B-52s and B-1s, anyone?)

Yep, Shoji Kawamori. He also designed two VAN-Force models using existing EXO-Force sets and custom decals, available only in Japan. I've seen a few vids of his LEGO valks; pretty neat how he works out the transformation sequence, although his models are more practical than aesthetic, and he cuts/modifies some pieces to fit the shapes he desires.

Over the years, there have been some nice Macross inspired MOCs; I think with a few new smaller ratcheting joints and small ball joints (similar to the old ball and socket arm joints), TLG could produce some stellar models at minifig scale. Honestly, I think LEGO is "missing the boat" by not attempting a transformable robot theme set in the System scale. The Transformers are still incredibly popular, and with a second film set next summer and the Animated cartoon, continues to reach younger fans, as well as the older crowd. EF was cool, but was just a little too ..i dunno, limited, and the mecha were too simplistic. Now if the City Police Van could transform into a decently articulated robot(with hands...no weapon arms, thank you), I think it would sell very well, even better if it could accommodate a minifig in vehicle mode. Although 6 wide vehicles are possible, I think 8 wide trucks and such would be excellent fodder for a transformable theme, giving the designers more room to fit features and joints in there. Anyway, this is and has been my dream theme for LEGO since I was about 11 or 12 years old...I'm 37 now, and I'm still dreaming. :classic:

What I dreamed of as a kid: Thunderbirds sets. Then you can of course release a big set of Tracy Island, sets of every TB vehicle (not only the Thunderbirds, also other vehicles like the FAB1 and the Mole) and some other big vehicles and scenes.

Oh, this is probably more "Trains" than "Licensed", but since LEGO had to get BNSF approval on the Super Chief and GP38-2, and probably TTX's on the Double-Stack, why not a licensed line of relatively-accurate trains? (Kinda like expanding the Super Chief basic-concept to a 6-wide version of my 10-wide passenger trains...)

DOCTOR WHO! We need definitive minifig scale Daleks!

Seriously, there's a lot to make... An almost endless line of minifigs and monsters. Though that is probably exactly what would keep LEGO from doing Who: too many original molds needed. TARDIS interior(s) and exterior can be made fairly easily though... As can the Doctors and companions. In licences, TLC has a thing with vehicles, right? Well, how about:

- TARDIS

- military trucks from UNIT

- normal car for a Father's Day set

- motorbike for a The Idiot's Latern set

- spaceships (Slitheen, Daleks, captain Jack)

- or even Bessie, if we're going for classic Who

Okay, it's never gonna happen. But it would be fantastic.

What I really want is a lord of the rings theme but as the film's are older now it will probably never happen. I also somehow always see a resemblance to lotr in the castle theme. :knight:

We could have:

hems deep

osgiliath

Mordor playset

The shire

Rivendell

Elf hidout in a forest

Huge moria with a balrog

Maybe a minus Tirith (This would be expensive though)

Also I agree with speilbrick doctor who would be great with cybermen and daleks.

Whenever Final Fantasy has been mentioned, the poster has excluded the most memorable one- it is most recently known as

Final Fantasy IV!

Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Cid, Kain... did I say him already? Just thinking about it brings me back to a whole world of geeky passion. Think about it! Who wouldn't love to see the Tower of Babel, Red Wings of Baron, or even a Black Chocobo landing in front of the Goblin's cave? Or how about a small set where Yang is kicking some fiery orb monster butt on a mountain? It'd be great!

sorry i meant a million people have made a lego wall-e but seriously that is the second time you have complained about one of my posts the other one you had trouble finding out that i was joking! sorry about the crazy post i was in a hurry! and please next time don't assume i am on drugs!

Ditto.

Disney. But I don't necessarily mean all their modern movies - what I would love to see is classic Disney. Carl Barks, mostly.

Uncle Scrooge and the Beagle Boys who try to steal his money in many creative ways.

Magica de Spell who tries to steal his number one dime in order to melt it in a volcano.

Donald and his nephews who go adventuring, hunting for square eggs (Lego square chickens would be cool).

Gyro Gearloose and his whacky inventions.

And of course Daisy Duck and Donald's big rival Gladstone Gander.

The good thing about this is that everybody knows it - we all read those comics when we were little and our kids are still reading them.

And, why not, the whole Micky Mouse crew, maybe in sets for younger kids (like their was in 2000 but the figs could be less chunky and more practical), with Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy, and Pluto. And Zeke Wolf wis his gentle nephew and the three pigs would make some cute sets too.

Oh, and I second Hello Kitty. I love pink bricks and I'm sure the market share in Japan will go through the roof once they have Hello Kitty sets.

Somebody mentioned Evangelion...good call. Great series. LEGO Evas would be very cool. Something like this:
