Disney's Oz the Great and Powerful or MGM's original Wizard of Oz would be pretty awesome as a LEGO theme. Just seeing a theme based off the books alone would make me happy though.

Do want.

Do you mean Dr. Seuss? He's the author you're probably thinking about. :classic: I'd love Dr. Seuss sets!

Walter made the Greek mythology joke because the Ancient Greeks worshipped a god named Zeus.

Oh, I got it. Hard to think straight with a three year old running around!

Obviously I wish TLG had the Star Trek franchise instead of Hasbro, a line of UCS starships and bases would be awesome.

Failing that, I've always thought that Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis would make a great basis for some really cool kits.

And for the obscure, as a child, I thought the show UFO from ITC and Gerry Anderson productions was great. My friend had the Dinky Toys collection for their vehicles (SHADO tanks, Moonbase, Intercepters, etc) but I built mine out of LEGO. They weren't very good (and looking back at the show 40 years later, neither was the source material by today's standards) but in its day it was fun.

Star Trek

Doctor Who

Nintendo

Star Trek - Not enough potential toy money probably, no series out, I want TOS, TNG, DS9 ones but the chances of them doing that are almost zero since they're long dead. The only slim chance is one based on the new movies which, while I really enjoy (the one that's out :P) I'd rather have Lego of the older ones...

Doctor Who - Character Building owns this franchise license and Lego cannot get their hands on it if they even wanted to. Lego Cuusoo saw the automatic closing of a Doctor Who project that was going places because they said they can't get the license.

Nintendo - I guess this has the biggest chance. I'd want to see mainly Zelda. Their history is complicated though so who knows. Nintendo used to be a direct competitor and made Lego knockoffs. Some franchises are owned by other companies (Mario Kart stuff might be considered competition). Sales wise I'm not sure how well Zelda would sell when a main game comes out only once every like 5 years and we're currently probably 4 away from the next console Zelda since the masterful Skyward Sword came out somewhat recently.

Other franchises Nintendo owns would be tougher sells. Donkey Kong probably wouldn't sell enough. Metroid even less. Pokemon... massively popular even today and in Toys too but it's hard to imagine how you make Lego out of Pokemon. You couldn't really have it minifigure based unless you gave each of the freakin' 650ish Pokemon unique molds (and yes, I demand that if they did that they'd have to release ALL the Pokemon :P).

Zelda has the biggest chance.

Would love both of those as well!

I just saw the Dredd 3D movie a couple days ago and I would love an official Dredd figure. I don't even need full sets, just the figure.

Red Bull

F1 Car

Nascar

Air race plane

Drift car

Crazy Flugtag contraptions

Red bull sponsor all sorts of cool and crazy stuff so there could be a heap of interesting possibilities

I want the return of Ferrari, which i'm pretty sure will happen. Also Transformers would be really cool, seeing that the Kre-o one's don't transform and the minfigures crack very quickly and easy.

You don't have to do "Disney's Oz".

The Wizard of Oz books are all public domain now. They can just make sets based on those, make them inspired by the new movie but not outright copying them and it would be perfectly legal. That said I don't think there would be much money in a franchise like that.

Gerry Anderson's stuff is ripe for it. Fireball XL-5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90, Terrahawks, Space 1999, UFO, Space precinct. The array of parts we have now Lego could easily pull off the vehicles.

My dream license would be Masters of the universe. It looks like a movie will happen in the next few years. Maybe this would be a chance for TLG to buy the license. But I think mattel will try to sell their own toys and wouldnt want any competitors. So I believe this will never happen. Well thats what MOCing is for.

Yeah, that's the thing. Anything Mattell or Hasbro will never be seen in Lego form. As we've seen with Hasbro, who've 'created' the Kre-O brick system to cover their own properties like G.I. Joe.

The license i would kill for(Just an expression, but pretty close) would be LEGO The Adventures of Tintin. I'm a great fan of Hergé's comic books and a tie-in license for Peter Jackson's upcoming sequel to the first Tintin film makes perfect profitable sense.

And seeing as TLC already has the license to all of Peter Jackson's films we could well see the first Tintin sets in 2015.

Another theme i will continue to dream of is the in-review Cuusoo project Back to the Future line.

I would love a Saturday Night Live theme, and if LEGO considered it, they could easily make the theme for 14+, and make the sets based on the more appropriate sketches, if you know what I mean! :P

They could do sets based on What up with That?, Manuel Ortiz Show, and some other classic sketches! Knowing that probably will never happen, but hey, this is a dream LEGO license topic after all! :)
