Dr.Cogg Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 With all this talk about the Simpsons becoming a theme I was thinking about other licenses that are far better than the Simpsons . 1# Halo ( They should have grabbed it before MB had a chance ) 2# The Legend of Zelda 3# Adventure Time 4# Wreck It Ralph ( It might have been a short theme , but we would have got Ci-Bugs and many other characters and creatures) 5# Mario and Mario Galaxy ( a Theme grabbed by K nexs ) 6# Uncharted 7# Invader Zim 8# Young justice 9# futurama 10# Anime Do you guys have any idea's Quote
ciano Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 They did an anime theme, specifically mecha anime. It was called Exo Force. Quote
Ceroknight Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21141 Take a look here maybe Quote
Nightshroud99 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 1# Halo ( They should have grabbed it before MB had a chance ) No, it's too violent for LEGO. 2# The Legend of Zelda I don't know why they don't want to make this a theme. 3# Adventure Time Maybe.. 4# Wreck It Ralph ( It might have been a short theme , but we would have got Ci-Bugs and many other characters and creatures) Never heard of it. 5# Mario and Mario Galaxy ( a Theme grabbed by K nexs ) This would have been perfect. 6# Uncharted Too violent. :( 7# Invader Zim A small cult following, myself included, but it'd never be a LEGO theme. 8# Young justice We have SUperheroes, that's close enough. 9# futurama Simpsons is more likely. 10# Anime Depends on the anime, but even then I can't see it. Exo Force was pretty close. Quote
gazumpty Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I agree...the Megablocks Halo stuff is actually not too bad...the figures are awful quality but the design and build of the ships and vehicles is spot on. The violence argument put out by TLG is nonsense, last time I looked The Lord of the Rings had some tasty combat scenes with heads and limbs being lopped off at every opportunity. Seems to me that its the balance of revenue against taste thats the issue. Quote
BrickG Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Zelda. Star Trek. Doctor Who. Character Building in the UK stole Doctor Who and Lego can't get it. Star Trek... well besides the new moving coming out it's pretty old :P. And I think another building thing owns the license. Zelda won't happen because Cuusoo sucks. :) Quote

Dr.Cogg Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Actually Halo is Mildly violent compared to Lord of the Rings Quote
Sam892 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Actually Halo is Mildly violent compared to Lord of the Rings I disagree, the flood alone make Halo more mature than LOTR. A parasitic life form that eat any life form, and take control of their bodies. On top of that there is a lot more blood in Halo than LOTR, plus the Weapons and vehicles are very militaristic. It's no suprise that Lego chose not to make Halo sets, I mean the games are rated 16+ where as LOTR are rated PG. Quote

Vindicare Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Actually Halo is Mildly violent compared to Lord of the Rings There's no way an M rated video game will make a LEGO theme. I'm pretty sure TLG has said they won't make themes based on FPS games. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Lego has a few themes that are really violent: # 1 Indiana Jones with guns ,nazis ,heads and faces exploding and melting off ,and people being killed in grusome ways. # 2 Lord of the Rings with swords chopping off heads and limbs, and spear impaling. # 3 Jurrasic Park with Dinosaurs eating and stomping people. As you can see , I don't buy the whole " To violent for Lego" argument P.S. If Lego had picked up Halo would MB still be around ? Quote
Mr_Malfoy Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Wreck It Ralph ( It might have been a short theme , but we would have got Ci-Bugs and many other characters and creatures) Never heard of it. 5# "Wreck-It Ralph" is the 52nd animated feature in the Disney Canon. It's kind of like a video game version of "Toy Story", and was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars. It's worth at least one viewing. Quote
TrumpetKing Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I was literally just watching Wreck-It Ralph! And even, funnier, I was thinking of LEGO Wreck-It Ralph! I'd love to see them, but I doubt they would ever happen. My dream LEGO license would be Harry Potter. Again. Just a revival of the parts they missed. Quote
SMC Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 With a new Jurassic park film coming next year and the dino range we had does anyone think we will get a new Jurassic Park Dino line next year? Quote

Zilcho Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 I'd like Narnia, all those animals :D it's like a more child-friendly LotR. Adventure time would be awesome, and is very appropriate for Legos target audience. Question: has lego ever done sets based on a video game? Quote
Omicron Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Question: has lego ever done sets based on a video game? The Minecraft set is the only set based on a video game franchise. As for sets from video games, there are a few Star Wars sets based on Force Unleashed and Old Republic. But given the nature of the theme that sets pretty much draw from any SW material, I never consider those sets to be video game sets. -Omi Quote
Elrond Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 (edited) I most probably won't see any of these and I'm just daydreaming but I'd love to see sets based on: - Assassin's Creed - Aliens - Legend of Korra (+ new ATLA sets) - TMNT (2003) - Battlestar Galactica (the new series) - Ghostbusters (might happen if they finally make a 3rd movie) That's all I can think of atm. It is a pretty clear and acceptable argument for a manufacturer of children's toys. Quote
Str0ngbad Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Dune, The Tolkien Estate, and Homestar Runner. Quote
Csacsa234 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I'd love to see a video game theme where Lego would release sets from different games. Like Bioshock, Assassin's creed, Halo, Mass Effect etc. with the important characters and veicles and/or buildings. Quote
