Many a sailor had stopped by The House of Clover to buy themselves comfort in the form of clover before heading out on raids. Word has it they bring luck. And luck was in demand on the high seas.

It was located on the edge of a cliff, built with rubble and leftover bricks, with a traditional overhang to maximize space on the upper floor. The pier was suited for small traders, but manouverable ships up to class 3 could harbour up at the utmost edge.

For the smallest boats it was often just as easy to take the goods up directly from the shore using the stairs. Tonight they were used for another purpose. A band of orphans played break-in. Most of them originated from Balondia, the Corrington colony east of Carno. They had learned the art of picking locks and pickpocketing in a much bigger group there, but eventually the Corringtons struck down on them, jailing most of them. The remaining ones had to flee, and signed up on the first ship available. Being landlubbers, they got booted as soon as they reached port.

They took the owner of the house by surprise. Rumor had it he had a pot of gold, and gold could buy a lot of sweets.

Inside was sparingly, but tastefully decorated, with lots of plants all over, and a lavatory in the corner. They quickly surrounded the owner and held him at gun point.

"So, we found your pot. But where is the gold? Spill your beans, or we might just play firestarter on this joint. With you in it.", Adam demanded. Being the oldest he had appointed himself leader of the pack.

30795993412_f47f5644a0_n.jpg Adam. The leader.

"Okay okay, easy now lads. You got me. Unfair, but square enough. The gold is not in the pot. It is in the clovers. They bring luck when most needed, and can make your dreams come true if you believe hard enough. Sailors come here to trade gold or wares for a little bit of luck. Since you caught me, my family creed entails me to grant you one wish.", the owner revealed reluctantly.

"For each of us?", Mishap Malone (formerly known as Pistol Pete), a boy with a bowler hat asked optimistically, while prodding him in the back with his flintlock pistol.

"Ehrm, that is unclear in my family chronicles. But I am sure we can come to an agreement. You seem like such nice boys.", the owner tried.

"We'll decide who are nice boys. And it certainly ain't us.", Terry promptly added.

"Alright, hold on a bit there. What do you guys think about a toy ship? One for each of you. Don't you wish you had one of those?", the owner suggested, a bead of sweat trickling down his chin.

"I want a body, just your size, to practice my carving technique",  Darrel said with a smile, while stroking his sharp blade.

"Want me to bash his head in, boss? Want me to? Please? I haven't smashed someone for ages. Several days at least." Long John chimed in.

"Not so fast, boys" A voice in the corner said. Eli, the second in command, was testing the lavatory facilities. "Seems like you have quite the business here. What about if we take your clovers of your hands, don't kill you, and wish for 90% of all your future profits"

"That's a bit tough", the owner exclaimed, mumbling "90%, I'll show those little.."

"If it is one thing I've learned it is that you make your own luck in this world." Adam said, looking down at his peg leg. "You are skilled with making luck. From now on you work for us. We will collect a share from you every week. 90% as Eli suggested seems fair. In return we will not flay you alive. That's the deal. To ensure you don't squirm out of this deal, we wish for the power to end your life, whenever we like, wherever you may be".

"Gosh, you got me. Fine, you get your wish, minus expenses" The owner said.

"Expenses up to a total of 20%, including your 10% share. And you have to show us the accounting books. And if we decide to kill you we will do it within.. less than 3 hours." Adam counteroffered.

"Fine. Fine. Have it your way. I guess I don't have much choice." the owner sulked. He snapped his fingers and said "It is done!" before disappearing in a cloud of smoke.

Downstairs, Whimsey had discovered some of the goods traded for lucky clovers.

With luck now on their side, the future looked bright for The Lucky Charms Gang.

I am going to license this as a small commerce, as an exchange of goods and wares.

Leprechauns in Lowtown? Cripes.  Once you're invested, it takes weeks of fumigation to get rid of them.

Great build and story!  I really liked how you built up the shoreline into a rock formation; it is a nice colour graduation.

I love the house; it has a lot of character (no pun intended). The natural rock base, the asymmetrical framing of the walls, the roof, I like it all. The beach and dock are excellent, too. As for the gang, I like the look of each minifig, especially Adam (good use of the zombie pirate torso) and Darrel (there's something about the striped vest torso and the way you have him holding the knife). Whimsey is good, too. And an excellent story to go with it all. Well done!

Very creative idea to do a gang of young orphans!   The torso you've used for Adam works really well too.  Nice build too, though I'm missing a door... :pir-grin:   The yellow and red really pop!

Great build and gang.  Nice textures.  I see you also have a copy of Pistol Pete in your gang.  You might get a visit in the night from the Wu Shoot's Intellectual Property lawyers. :pir_laugh2:

 Yeah, they are a pain in the megablocks. I tried to make it look like the water at high tide had made an impact on the stone.

There is no door... No, actually, the door is there. You can see it in the basement shot.

See above   Also, sorry about that. I was in a hurry when I wrote the entry, and I made the names on the fly. Your choice of name was good and stuck to my brain. And my mind is a mess. But good to see a basketball connoisseur in here.

There is something about the building that makes it really appealing. Very nice! The gang and story are great too! Great entry!

Thanks a lot :classic:

Really nice building and great looking gang. I like the youthful take on the criminal underworld, and I think the "magic-y" aspects of this is perfectly subdued to fit to BoBS. Your rockwork and landscaping is really nice, and the half-timbered building is looking great. I also enjoy that you gave your gang a story, rather than just presenting them with their biographies. Well done!
