That's the shoreline of a map. Are we not expecting anymore reveals for a little while?

Probably not anything official, No. Not for another couple of weeks probably.

My god.... It seems Poison Ivy is about to perform at the Moulin Rouge

Oh it is just me or Alfred's coattails piece is hard plastic?

It does look like it. The way the hip piece goes both up and down at the sides seems to indicate it's moulded rather than just a fabric 'skirt' that folds down from the hip studs.

Oh c'mon LEGO. No leg printing?

Leg printing on the Riddler would have been nice, but this theme seems to have a wealth of dual molds and limb prints already so I'm not too bothered.

So, by my count, and just by pics of sets we have seen, we're looking at eighteen new pieces, and there are obviously likely contenders for new pieces we just haven't seen yet. Is this the most new pieces introduced in a theme at the same time?

I think the lego movie had 15? And we haven't even seen all the sets for this wave so I bet it is.

He doesn't need leg printing. If anything it would ruin the look of his suit by making it too busy and overdetailed. Not every minifigure needs to be covered from head to toe.

Besides its not like Lego was being lazy - they still printed the hip joint of the legs so it was more of a design decision than a cost cutting one.

I agree. Some of the Star Wars minifigs from a few years back prove that you can get too detailed on a minifig. And suited Riddler doesn't tend to have question marks on his pants, so it's accurate to much of the source material.

Leg printing - even designs that might not fully work  - is always better than plain legs.

Why?

If you feel plain works better, swap the brick.

Now try doing that, the other way around.

Lego charge a fortune, they damn well need to earn every penny - Arkham costs roughly the same as a PS4 was recently going for in the U.K. Think production costs are the same?

It's not they charge it for no reason, they have genuine quality products. It has been shown time and time again that brands like Mega Blocks and clone products are very inferior to Lego. Also, licensing most likely costs a lot, which is why Star Wars and Super Hero sets are more expensive than a same size City/Friends set.

So no, Lego doesn't need to "earn every penny", because they really already did.

EDIT: I feel that I need to be more on topic. I really like how Lego is giving Batman a wide range of facial expressions that really show off this Batman's personality.

I just searched google for purple catwoman costumes to see the inspiration for this figure and came across this drawing from arkham asylum (the video game) which looks pretty much like the figure we are getting to me:

Where are you buying your PS4s? Even at a rough estimate this Arkham set looks like it'll cost half of what a PS4 sells for everywhere I've looked.

I actually really like that suit. I think the orange just kind of clashed with the purple, so I'm now really looking forward to seeing official images. Also something I will never understand is why Catwoman is wearing her mask and gloves, riddler his hat and gloves and Ivy her gloves in the Arkham set, I guess identification issues :sceptic:

Some places recently had the console up for £150 so I'm assuming that's what he was going for (which is a bargain really!) but that's way off topic so hey.

Looking forward to seeing more of these sets! I think I'm going to struggle to buy them all as quick as normal as I'm having to cut back my Lego budget a bit but damn they all look good! I never got the original Arkham so the new one is a must for me. I really like Penguin too.

Actually the strangest thing I find in the Arkham set is that catwoman is wearing a belt... I mean seriously you let a dangerous inmate have a belt!?! Part of me however thinks that she is there undercover working for Batman or something which would explain why the belt is orange so that it doesn't get noticed... guess we'll know when the movie (or the official set description) comes out.

Haha I definitely thought the same thing when I saw that. Personally, even though I think Arkham is a really cool set I'm probably going to pass on it. I think it was said that Two-Face was the only villain who won't be in another set and since there are so many sets for this movie it's be just too expensive to buy them all.

I took all the Arkham figures with gloves and belts--speaking of Catwoman specifically--to mean that the Arkham institution just haphazardly throws uniforms on its prisoners. It suggests that they are still wearing their uniforms under the prison garb; hence the non standard gloves, hats, and orange belts. The belt is "orange" because it is under orange prison fabric.

I have a thought on all the inmate masks: in some stories, where Batman winds up getting locked in Arkham (usually undercover), they leave his mask on with the claim that it's part of his "delusional mindset" and that it will be easier to "cure" him that way. Maybe that has become Arkham policy across the board?

They must get really sweaty, then.

Back in 2014, most of the lego movie sets came out in Dec. And, we all know most of the lego batman movie sets come out on 27 Nov. It is just two days after Black Friday (25 Nov). Does it mean anything significant? Does anybody know ?

Well Lego are doing their own Black Friday Deals, so releasing them two days after makes sense from a "give us all your money" point of view.

Does anyone know if what's been shown so far the entire first wave? If so, the only cheap set (with my budget in mind) is the Mr Freeze set, which I'm buying. All the other sets are $50+, which I find surprising that there isn't another cheaper set in the mix. Isn't there a rumored Clay face set in the range $20 to 30 range or is that for the summer wave?

So don't really know what happened but for some reason I couldn't reply anymore hence the weird post...

Anyway there are rumours of a Catwoman set that should be in the 20/30 range it is also said to include Batgirl and Robin.
