All right, maybe Joker is more useful than just the hairpiece. He's just not an interesting figure.

Catman should have had his own cowl, if you ask me. I'm not buying the short Bat-mask as cat ears.

As for the obscurity of the characters, I think it's better to have them in the CMF line, since people would probably be more confused if the iconic characters were sidelined to the CMFs. Nobody in the general public is going to see the Eraser or March Harriet as incentive to buy a set; they're gonna go for the more well-known characters. Besides, the CMFs are most likely going to be one-off gags and minor roles, so they work better in this release format.

Incidentally, anyone else look at King Tut's staff and think "Jafar" for Disney CMF Series 2?

I suppose. If they really wanted a Jafar, though, they could've done it in series 1; that piece, or a very similar one, has been around since '10, with the Pharaoh CMF.

And? All I said was the fig would be easily modded to make a version of Wolverine we'll probably never see in Lego form. I.e, this guy ⬇⬇⬇⬇

...wasn't that 80's outfit part of the last X-Men set?

I'm not going to give a breakdown of what I think of the figures but I think they're about as good as a CMF line based on a Lego Batman Movie I haven't seen yet could be. We were never going to get loads of main characters in it. The Lego Movie CMF line has a variant of Wyldestyle along with regular versions of Emmett, Bad Cop and Lord Business. Then 12 randoms from throughout the film... No Bennie, No Virtruvius, No Batman.

I never look at CMF waves as just a vehicle for parts for customs or figbarfs.. they have to work as their own figure first and foremost. Vacation Batman is actually a great way to get dual moulded short arms with black sleeves (a little eraser or brasso work on the Batman logo on the sleeve and you're fine).

All of Batman's major rogues are included in both regular form and prison form with room for a couple of variants in between. The only ones we're not getting straight away are already rumoured for the summer wave. So we'll be missing Mad Hatter, Ventriloquist and a couple of others... so what? We don't know if they're in the film so how can they be in the sets? You're always going to have people who don't know these characters.. especially with a younger audience... they're not the people Bats goes up against in the New 52 or Rebirth. We had someone who didn't know who the mutant leader was and he's in one of the seminal Batman works... it's fine if you don't know them but I don't think they should be dismissed simply because they're not the mainstream bad guys we always get.

When the film comes out and we have the summer wave to look at everything that was released and what the content of the film was we'll be able to see if there were any glaring omissions... with regards to characters I'd have been happy if they'd just gone for obscure villains (there's been a story where d-list villains go after Batman because they're sick of not being considered the cream of the villain crop and they work together to be taken more seriously). There's wave after wave of DC Super Heroes to follow as the theme has been categorised as evergreen.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Seems like 2017 will be THE year for dedicated Batfans!

Catman is his own unique character, and not a Batman variant. Although judging by all the comments about him on various boards, he might as well be a cross between Batman and Wolverine!  Undoubtedly the the Bat-cowl and Wolverine claws don't help; but Lego Catman regardless is incredibility accurate to his traditional appearance.

I've been waiting for this a for a while. A Catman minifig.

And like Nemo says and shows,  it's pretty faithful to the comics, which is great.

However it is beyond me why they didn't use a Catwoman mask, or perhaps a new mold, and opted for Batman instead.

Batman has flat ears on the sides of his head, while Catman's are more on the top and perked forward.

And because they're using a Batman cowl, they cant give him regular eyes, which is another deviation from the comics. I don't remember a single time that Catman's eyes weren't visible. They were never just ghost white like Batman's comic appearances.

Unfortunate, but still like it a great deal. Will get at least 2 so I can use the spare head for Batfleck-stubble like somebody suggested. And it doesn't have a chinstrap, but you can still use it for the armored Batsuit.

My 2 cents.

I don't mind the use of the batman cowl on catman, even if it is confusing some. In his first appearances, he was meant to be a sort of cheap comedic knockoff of batman, even having a catmobile identical to the batmobile but with whiskers. Therefore I can see why they opted for this and I do like the figure, but a new mould might have been nice to get.

UK PEEPS!!!!!

Lowrider, Batmobile, Batcave and the Mr. Freeze set are listed on the UK Lego store. January 1st release date. Prices are... higher, than expected.

Lowrider and Batmobile are both £54.99

Batcave is £109.99

Mr Freeze is £19.99

Not gonna lie, they all seem over priced. Definitely shifted from a day one buy to a wait till there's at least a double points offer.

Batcave is £110! Batmobile and lowrider £55! These seem really overpriced, i'm quite shocked.

Piece wise the Batmobile and Batcave aren't too bad, but the Lowrider takes the piss. It's gotta be a mistake, there's a 100+ difference in the piece counts. 20 quid for the Mr Freeze set seems high though.

The price i'm most disappointed in though is the batcave, batmobile not too bad, same with freeze, lowrider is an appalling price for what it is.

Good news is sets like these always wind up on sale in the UK. ARGOS does 3 for 2 deals, Amazon seems to almost immediately drop prices on Lego sets. It's just a shame I won't be getting them day one like id planned.

THANKS, Brexit.

the only figures I want are fairy bat, glam bat, lobster bat and vacation bat. I sort of want the joker figure, since I wont be getting him in a set as I can put his head on the Peter capaldi minifig from the Ideas set.

Prices in The Netherlands (source S@H):

Mr. Freeze set - €30..
Batmobile - €70..
Lowrider - €55..
Batcave - €110

Well then.

This gives me hope the Lowrider UK price on their site is wrong.

We have already known the European prices for quite some time now so they shouldn't come as a surprise. The British prices we didn't know until now and given the Brexit and all I'd wager that they are actually correct.

I am confused though, if they only list the first four sets for a January 1st release date does this mean that the other sets will be released at a later time point?
