Gentleman Ghost and Clock King kinda fit with the set, especially if they go with the BAS version of Clock King

Yeah, it'd be a missed opportunity to leave those two out of the Penguin set as all three are considerably classy foes. Plus the ones in the RR are all colourful, KC set includes all animal villains makes a lot of sense IMO

That idea of specific themes with villains is a good point. The bane set has two villains renowned for their strength (bane and the mutant leader) so this theory makes complete sense in my opinion as well.

Maybe because the villains, except the Riddler, are unknown to most. Hence the ? which goes with the Riddler. Most are unknown villains, which is a perfect way to add them together.

That's why I asked how are Riddler, Magpie, Calendar Man and Kite Man related?

What do they have in common? :look:

I've been thinking about this for a while and I think I've got it- All their alter egos are puns- Margaret Pye "Magpie", Julian Day "Calendar Man", Charles 'Chuck' Brown (as in Charlie Brown) "Kite-Man" and E. Nygma "Riddler"

True, but a large percentage of Batvillains have play-on-word names, so it may just be coincidental.

Yeah, I know, a bit of a strech but the only concrete link I found

They all have an obsession and base their crimes around them.

Riddler's is obvs riddles

Calendar Man's is dates

Kite Man's is his kite I guess

And Magpies is shiny stuff.

They all seem to be intelligent and master planners too, but I would have swapped Kite Man for Clock King if I was TLG...

It could also be that they're ridiculed villains and that's why they team up...

Wow, that's a really good guess. I was just thinking they were all just lunatics or obsessive criminal geniuses.

Again, though, most of Batman's villains, especially in "classic" setups, have themes they commit crime around. The main reasons these guys are together? A combination of how their screentime goes and how narketing thinks they will best attract sales. Maybe they all cling onto Riddler's car in the chase scene.

Even so it appears a few sets in this theme included grouped villains- the Croc set includes 3 animal villains (which is also a pretty common theme for supercriminals), from what we've heard of Bane's set it's a bulky set with Mutant Leader and Bane (also a common Batman villain type), it makes sense the Penguin car will include typically classy villains i.e Penguin, Clock King or Gentleman Ghost. So we're definitely look for some link between the villains in the RR. I'm going with the fact their alter egos are puns, despite the fact other villains are like this

I visited the KOP Lego store in Pennsylvania today to score the Holiday globe and saw they had all the January release Batman movie sets already. That and several other Lego series January release sets. They look much better in person. It was hard not to buy them all. I can wait though, there will be plenty of sales down the road.

I know they are selling the sets in stores also, I picked up the new bat cave and mr. freeze set today.

Same thing with me, managed to pick these up today! I forgot about them until I got an email from the VIP reminding me about the sets and managed to get them.  Freeze was down to two after I got one and there was only one batcave.  Lego had some good deals on other sets.
