Cammo Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) I wouldn't be surprised if the funhouse/amusement park is going to be the D2C set. There has to be one right? No way Arkham is the biggest set in this theme. Lego designs a 400 EUR Ghostbuster-set and doesn't promote their own movie with a similar sized and priced set? There aren't many options left for the D2C. Only Wayne Manor, GCPD or a Funhouse. Unless Joker transforms Wayne Manor into a funhouse. Edited October 7, 2016 by Cammo Quote
Mr Greeble Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 So, when will these hit shelves? The date on LEGO.com says the 4th, but today's the 7th... Quote

Without seeing the movie I don't know how you can make that assumption (re: funhouse). I don't expect lbm to be as wild as tlm but it could be anything at this point. Quote
Cammo Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I was just guessing... I think it would be logical marketing to put a big set out to promote the new movie... Quote
Robianco Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 The Lego Movie had the Sea Cow as it's largest set didn't it? That was £179 I think. After the we're looking at Benny's Spaceship. The sheer scope of figures and characters in that movie lent itself to multiple waves spanning various themes... With us having the Batcave and Arkham, and without seeing the film yet, I'm not sure what may come along at a higher pricepoint. Someone mentioned Wayne Manor and we certainly know it's featured in the movie but whether we'd get it is something else entirely. Nice thought though. Quote

Ashnflash Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Wayne Manor would work well. Plus everyone's always wanted one! Another option for a D2C could be a Large Ace Chemicals set. But who knows the Sea Cow came with 6 figures and Arkham is already doubling that. Quote

Isn't Arkham the most minifigures that any DC set has had. Or even the most any Superheroes set has had? With us getting Alfred and Bruce Wayne with the Cave I'm not sure how much of a nail that puts in a Wayne Manor coffin. Mind you... there's been no mention at all of a larger set so the notion of it is pretty much wish listing or guesswork anyway. Quote
Cammo Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) Is there an overview of what Lego will be showing this weekend during NYCC? Perhaps a new story trailer for the movie or are the 3 sets everything they have for now? Edited October 7, 2016 by Cammo Quote

This version has personality and far more play-ability--undoubtedly stylistically the old version looks better in general, but I think this version will be more fun to own. Where as the last version was basically about dumping off villains at the facility (with large cells and not much else), this version focuses on what those villains do after being dropped off. The visitors room, cafeteria, laundry room, recreational yard; all focus on living at Arkham and that greatly adds play-ability. Even the guards get more opportunities here from the walkways to the x-ray scanner and police car. Also "don't tap on glass" for the win! The interior and pieces are probably the only reason i'll get it.... Quote

It's closer to the original than the blue/red one, which is good. Because the SQ one looks like a cheap hooker No need to disparage hookers, cheap or otherwise. Hookers are people too. I assume. He only came in his "normal" form in Lord Business' Lair (now Batcave) and then he came in the Sea Cow (could be Wayne Manor). I don't know, I just really want a Wayne Manor set! Quote

Do you mean Bruce or Alfred could be like Vitruvius? Because I feel like either way if we were getting two different versions then the versions in the batcave would have been used in Wayne manor and more casual versions (for example Alfred in waist coat and shirt with rolled up sleeves or Bruce in some sort of training/exercise clothes) would have been used in the batcave. If a D2C is coming (I actually don't think there is given we just got a DC D2C) I would expect it would be maybe some sort of villain hideout incorporating multiple villains motifs. Quote
Brickweiser Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 There are some pictures up on IGN of the new sets. I noticed that the Mr. Freeze set "Mr. Freeze Ice Attack" is listed as available 11/27/16. The Arkham Asylum set is listed as 1/1/17. Not sure if this was mentioned yet so sorry if I'm repeated old info. Quote

Cammo Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 (edited) I hope we get Penguin's Limo though. Or whoever's limousine was shown in the trailer. Too bad I have ran out of space for my Lego collection... I don't want to get rid of my Bag-End display in favour of some new Batman sets. Bricklinking most of the figures but the Lowrider is a must-buy and build. I'll buy the Arkham Asylum to add to my backlog. Edited October 8, 2016 by Cammo Quote
LegoShroom Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 I'm still wondering whether or not the November early release for the sets applies to those of us in the Uk.? Also has anyone noticed that in the nycc photos both the batcave and lowrider are listed as 70906??? Quote

Brickset says that the new building sets will hit shelves on November 27, 2016, only in the United States, Canada and Mexico. So I guess no, sucks for me as well http://brickset.com/article/23855/lego-dc-super-hero-girls-press-release Quote

GeekByKnight Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 It seems odd to release these sets at staggered dates across the world. Especially when it's usually the other way round. (EU/UK getting sets before US) Have we actually had release dates being regional confirmed by Lego? Quote
Ashnflash Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 So I found this... http://www.lego.com/en-us/batmanmovie/articles?tag=de648106-ac38-435e-a52a-6aebccefd29e I'm assuming that'll be the box art for all the sets! Looks pretty good to me! Quote
