Eslandian Consitution 16 members have voted

  1. 1. I have read the Eslandian Constitution (below) and I...

    • think it should become law!
    • think it's fairly good and should become law but might need amendments after the council has been set up.
    • think it's okay but there are some things that really need to be changed before I can accept it, so I've mentioned these things in a comment below.

  2. 2. I've followed or tried to follow this discussion and I...

    • think this was a wonderful way to include players in the development of a faction's government.
    • think this was a nice idea but ended up being too much for me to read.
    • think this was wacky. What is leadership here for, if not to handle this sort of nutty stuff?

One question: I could potentially have three positions in the councial at the same time, right? For my TC, for my region, and for the people. Or am I limited to one?

My interpretation was that you would be limited to two: either your TC or your region, plus the Admius Legistrad, but that has not been made clear and I could be wrong.

Also someone might need to MOC a parliament-house? Good I would love to do this! Anyone mind if that's on Nellisa? :-)

Actually, I'm well into MOCing a colonial hall for the council for Weelond, but I anticipated that others would want to MOC it as well. I think it would be interesting (and make for more MOCs) if the physical location of the council moved to a different place each session.

Great idea, actually!

I thought so too. And I support that point of view. I think it could make politics more including and at the same time more intriguing.

As Elostirion said, great idea. Before an assembly could be held, there needs to be an MOC for it. I suggest the council meets at the buildings dedicated for it, in the order they are posted. That would be fair, and also provide ample motivation for getting it done. First one gets to hold the first ever meeting for the council. If we run out of new places we rotate in the same order. The most eager builders get their turn first. And it is a nice statement build challenge. Not that it needs to be a challenge. There are already more than enough challenges for my pace.

Since there's no rule against having three positions, I guess currently in theory that should be possible.  But I imagine people are less likely to vote for someone who already has another position - and very unlikely to vote for or choose someone who already has two.

That sounds great!

Yes, as far as I had thought of it I had kind of assumed that people wouldn't be holding more than two positions.  I'd not be adverse to making that law, either.

I don't think we should absolutely ban meeting without a MOC, but allowing builders to host meetings by building an MOC does sound like a great idea!

As Capt Wolf and Kai have said, no, we were thinking only two positions max per member (Admius Leg. and one other seat)... since it seems like that's not currently in the Constitution, I think we should probably just try to add it as an amendment later on :pir-wink:

Good idea about hosting Councils by building them (though like Kai, I'm not sure we should make this absolutely a requirement).  And I quite agree that it should rotate around any/all of Eslandola's colonies in the New World

And @Elostirion, yes, we'll need a document detailing how the Council operates, but since that isn't such an important prerequisite (and what is absolutely essential is already in the constitution), I think we could probably just have the Council decide upon the rest of that itself :pir-grin:

Election rigging trolls for the win!
