Chuck Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 To be honest, I personally thought it was silly too. I really only bought it for the Ark, but its grown on me. I love dropping the snakes and making the statues fall. Also, great parts usage with the carrots as torches. -Chuck Quote
Batbrick Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 (edited) At the risk of being lynched by Grevious - this is one of the best threads...ever.Dr. S. blueandwhite Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Good stuff! Can you imagine what this thread would have looked like if somebody made a slip up about Star Wars *vader* ?? The force is strong with this thread. In all seriousness, the Lost Tomb is only as silly as the movie (which is pretty light hearted to begin with), so it's nice to see that LEGO captured the spirit of the movie so well in this set. Surprisingly, this is one of the nicer sets for the line thus far. A good assortment of pieces and a nice recreation of a key moment in Raiders. Quote

Zaktan of the Shadows Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 here's that scan...Indiana Jones set designer interview - BM Thanks! The interview was good... but kinda short... at least it had the reason for the treasure box... But why don't they have any Temple of Doom sets? Was it because it's so ridiculous and bad? I mean Raiders and Crusade were good... but Temple O' Doom... :'-( The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is gonna be gooooooood. X-D -ZotS Quote

ADMINS! Give this young man an immediate Fellowship in the Ring, the Sword, and the whole kit and caboodle - and all priviledges that go unto, underthow, and overthrow. This marks a glorious moment in EB history where unto an aspiring hero has stood up and professed his extreme grandeur for a single Fellow who; through no cooercion, Phes Stockade indoctrination chamber, or smiley BrickMiner sticker, proclaims honestly and meritoriously the truth as you have read it today in the year of 2008 of January 14. Let this mark a significant and celebratorious occasion and honor this man in the most extreme way the Fellowship of EB can provide. Ding Dong the Witch is Dead! Quote

X-O Wow, I'm flattered really, not only did you just put me on the highest pedastal I've ever been on but you also managed to praise yourself at the same time :-D Wow, um, I'm speechless, thats the funniest, most shocking, hilarious, baffling, strangest, weirdest, most comical, crazy, insane, spectacular, brilliant, well-written AND true thing I've ever read. WesternOutlaw Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 thats the funniest, most shocking, hilarious, baffling, strangest, weirdest, most comical, crazy, insane, spectacular, brilliant, well-written AND true thing I've ever read. This is why I have a tough time explaining what I'm all about... You've said it quite eloquently. Thank you. ----- Now Grevious: Batbrick just made a similar mistake on a thread yesterday in which he stated that singer Michael Buble performed a camio in the Cantina scene of Star Wars, A New Hope - and we've already forgotten it (this could be you for a similar announcement of loyalty and admiration). Vote for the wrong Fellow, and perhaps have this thread front paged forever (even before announcing new sets releases). The power is in your hands. It's all riding on you. ;-) Quote

Hinckley Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Comedy backfire 101 I thought since TheBrickster was acting so silly it would be funny to play the grumpy one, but apparently I've joked myself into a corner. :'-( Quote
Batbrick Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Comedy backfire 101I thought since TheBrickster was acting so silly it would be funny to play the grumpy one, but apparently I've joked myself into a corner. :'-( Comedy Backfire 101 review: "The good cop, bad cop routine, also likened as the comic and straight man routine, will never fail to raise a laugh in real life. Never, not if it is performed correctly. Unfortunately for the naive internet user, one might find that this routine when written in internet conversation will result in said comedy backfire. Not always take note, but just as sarcasm is easily taken literally on a chatboard so can this method cause embarrassment and even total humiliation. Fortunately, most people are intelligent enough to realise this, and even those that don't are smart enough not to stoop so low as the "but how can I talk" shtick at the end. And then there are others......." :-P Batbrick is Back! >:-) Quote

WesternOutlaw Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Does that make me the straight man or the comic? I choose the straight man. Quote
