Aye, I knew it from the start. :excited:

Well, there goes the excitement of any future newcomer trailers.:grin:

(Unless this person hasn't unlocked them all...) (Who is the leaker anyways?)

The roster looks pretty good to me, except for one thing that me and many other agree on:

Where the heck is Wolf!?

On the IGN forums they claim each characters has 8 alternative costumes. Except Bowser Jr and his clown cart is replaced with the koopa kids. They also claim Dixie will be in the game.

The origin of the leak...

There's also a tentative list of DLC characters...

Lucas, Wolf, Snake, Ice Climbers, and Chorus Men (from Rhythm Heaven)

We have no screenshots proving it's legitimate, but it is something!

Perhaps you mean 8 alternate costumes/pallet swaps?

In the imgur leak, there is a trophy confirmed for Larry in the Koopa Clown Car. And they (thankfully) won't be taking out tons of character slots (a la Mario Kart 8). I can go with this.

Also, to clarify:

Larry, Morton Koopa Jr., Wendy, Iggy, Roy, Lemmy, and Ludwig von Koopa are "The Koopalings"

Koopalings_-_New_Super_Mario_Bros_U.png

The green, red, and blue "Mini Bowsers" from the Mario Party series are "The Koopa Kids"

Neither of them are to be confused with Bowser Jr.

Just an FYI

Yeah koopalings, my bad.

Collecting all those Amiibo figures will cost me a fortune. About 50 figures for smash bros alone. That's like 500 euro?

The leaker was a member of Nintendo of America who was supposed to be sending info to the ESRB.

He has been fired and is being sued by Nintendo.

The leaker is still in possession of the 3DS version of the game.

Now... if any of you were still skeptical, that's about as official as it gets.

Well another thing that supports this (if you still doubt) is today's update revealed for the first time that Final Destination stages are called Omega. One of the leaks had this before it was revealed today.

Not to mention that the Pic of the Day for today also features the spectator mode that, as of now, we've only had a leak of. Yes the leak and the PotD are identical in design.

I don't know if any of you know this, but with the Pic of the Day that featured details about the sound room, free samples of some songs were added here to the official website.

For those of you who are curious as to what the "Pic of the Day" (PotD) is, the developer of the new Smash, Masahiro Sakurai, adds a new picture(s) with informational details every weekday to Miiverse. You can find the updates as they come here, or you can check out this repository.

And if Nintendo suing the leaker wasn't enough proof...

Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles was announced today during a very eventful Japanese Nintendo Direct.

Shulk_SSB4.png

Notice how the render is identical to the one featured in the leaked character roster.

Alongside the reveal of the *New* 3DS and the *New* 3DS XL (releasing early next year in Europe and the US), it was revealed that these New 3DSes have a better CPU similar to the Wii's. Knowing that, Xenoblade Chronicles is being ported to the *New* 3DS.

To revolutionize the handheld version of Smash for 3DS, the *New* 3DS features a c-stick, which, like Melee and Brawl, can be used for quick Smash-attacks.

Amazon also has Pre-Orders up for both games, the 3DS guide, the Smash Bros. styled Gamecube Controllers, the Gamecube Controller adapter, and the first series of twelve Amiibo.

Originally there were 14 revealed. Pre-orders exclude Pit and Zelda.

Although

is in Japanese, there is plenty of new info (and leak confirmation).

Lastly, if you all thought the Zero Suit Samus alternate skin was showing too much skin...

Nintendo has no clue what constitutes a new name for a system.

They should have fired that guy a long time ago, and maybe sue him for jeopardizing the company.

Returning Veteran leak confirmation!!

In the video that I

above, if you pause exactly when it hits the 0:57 mark, in the window with Pikachu in it, you will briefly see a "Character Off-screen notification" on the right that shows Ganondorf.

In another video, it reveals that All-Star mode is played by entering a door that is marked by the time period certain characters were revealed (i.e. When you reach the 1991 door, you will fight Yoshi and Sonic.)

When I looked at the Miiverse picture today, it took me a second to remember that Shulk hadn't been officially revealed yet.

I think he looks like a pretty interesting character overall, although, as others have mentioned, even though he has non-sword attacks, he is another sword character.

Am I the only one who thinks we should open a general Nintendo discussion thread?

The Amiibo are so well detailed! I might end up getting one before I get this game and a Wii U.

Any idea why Pit and Zelda got excluded?

Lastly, if you all thought the Zero Suit Samus alternate skin was showing too much skin...

I personally disagree with all the negativity towards the two ZS Samus alternate costumes. They are, after all, based off of actual costumes from games.

I have a feeling that the complete final roster (which we still don't have complete confirmation of) will round out at an even multiple of 12, and they decided that Pit (being a lesser known character) and Zelda (Link is already representing the Zelda franchise in the first wave) would be better suited for a later wave. Also having these two Amiibo delayed further proves that there will be more Smash-specific Amiibo.

In case none of you have been checking, there is a wonderful selection of soundtrack samples available on the Smash website. It usually updates between Tuesday-Wednesday. Sadly, only one more selection may be added, due to the games release in Japan in 10 days.

Speaking of which, if anyone's interested, Josh Wittenkeller (TheJWittz) is getting a Japanese copy of the game (3DS) and will be streaming it on Twitch.tv on the 12th.

The skin possibilities have risen exponentially! Each character is getting eight skins/recolors. We know Villager's alts and Samus' alts in full:

The fact that there are eight alts makes the Bowser Jr./Koopaling swaps leak more plausible.

This means that one character could potentially have eight different voices/voice actors.

This also opens up the chance of being able to play eight variants of Robin (or "Avatar" if you Fire Emblem fans prefer) as he has plenty of variations.

There are also different skins such as:

-American Flag stylized Little Mac and Mario

-Dark Link and Dark Zelda

-Boxer-short Shulk (his other alts are recolors of his normal garb)

-"Justin Bailey" Zero Suit Samus

-As well as plenty of color swaps!

We are just about a week out now from the Japanese release.

Those of us in the US still have about a month of waiting left.

Thanks to tweets from some Super Smash Bros. 3DS demo events in Japan, we have TONS of new info.

Notable info:

Costumes (model changes, underlined)/alternate colors (in italics)

  • Zero Suit Samus: dark blue, grey, green, red and black
  • Zelda: White hair, no Hilda pallet
  • Olimar: model changes to Alph (Character Select Announcer say "Pikmin & Alph" upon the change) from Pikmin 3, four alts for each
  • Robin: only his hair changes color. The hair model does not change to reflect the Avatar character's other iterations in Fire Emblem Awakening
  • Fox: Wolf color pallet (no model change)
  • Pikachu: Glasses added to model, Gold/Silver Trainer's hat turned backwards, X/Y Trainer's hat, party hat
  • Link: Fierce Deity Link pallet (color change, not a new model), white tunic, purple tunic
  • Yoshi: Red, Blue, green, Yellow, light blue, purple, black, pink, no white
  • Peach: Fire Flower pallet (Super Mario 3D World reference, rumored), red, black, Daisy pallet (not a costume)
  • Toon Link: all Brawl colors returning, no Outset Island outfit
  • Pit: black, pink
  • Palutena: Viridi pallet, black, pink, green, red/white
  • Meta Knight: Dark Meta Knight, white
  • Charizard: Shiny Charizard, purple, yellow, gray, dark red, blue
  • Pac-Man: Skin doesn't change colors. Accessories only (shoes and gloves change colors)
  • Donkey Kong: Pink (reminiscent to Congalala from Monster Hunter)
  • Little Mac: Camoflauge, green hoodie, total of 16 skins/colors (Wireframe and normal Mac each have 8 different alts)
  • Luigi: Ice Flower pallet
  • Marth: Orange
  • Sonic: Multiple shades of blue, white, black, no Sonic Boom costume
  • Mega Man: Brown/black, green yellow, blue/yellow, no Proto Man costume, no helmet-less costume
  • Kirby: Armorless Meta Knight

kirby_new_palette_swap.jpg

  • Shulk: Boxers (during reveal), 7 more colors of main outfit
  • Lucario: green, purple, dark grey, shades of blue, no shiny
  • Greninja: Shiny Greninja (black)
  • Diddy Kong: pink, colors only, no Dixie costume
  • Rosalina: fire flower pallet
  • Bowser: Blue

Moves

  • Shulk has the longest attack range of any sword wielder. His Arts are in a fixed, automatic cycle, and is changed by holding B. Speed Art is nearly twice as fast as Sonic if not faster
  • Peach's side special (her butt attack) has no delay anymore. Turnip pull is slower.
  • Meta Knight is changed. His infinite attacks are nerfed to a Smash attack if they last long enough. His recovery (up B) is similar to Brawl Marth's. He has some start up time on some of his attacks. He's not as intimidating as he used to be
  • Pac-Man is slow (but not Ganondorf  ). He has a bounce to him. Feels similar to Game & Watch
  • Lucario is unchanged, except his Smash attacks are stronger
  • Palutena's Final Smash has a really long range of suction (Black Hole). Outside of using the Powers from Kid Icarus Uprising, Palutena relies heavily on her staff for twirling attacks. Can take plenty of damage/heavyweight character.
  • In Robin's victory pose during the results, Chrom will be at his/her side. Levin Sword is used for smash attacks, and recharges within 5-7 seconds after discarded. Discarding of Levin Sword and Tomes are automatic. Sometimes he/she uses the Basic Sword for attacks, whether or not the Levin sword is charged.

uhcrmbs.jpg

  • Pit: Side b has been changed to the Upperdash arm, has high smash potential at higher %'s (It has a long lag time if you miss, though)
  • Diddy Kong: Can only throw out one banana peel at a time
  • Captain Falcon: Up B is no longer a flip (he leaps straight up)
  • Marth: Shorter Final Smash range (same Final Smash as in Brawl). His range in all of his swings have also been nerfed in order to differentiate between him and Lucina. Marths counter has been buffed with KO abilities
  • Greninja: Lightweight. High skill cap
  • Link: He's quicker
  • Ike: Unchanged. He has blue flames now
  • Sonic: He's stronger. There is some lag here and there after attacks.
  • Zelda: Din's Fire (side B) will explode instantaneously upon button release. Her Phantom attack (down B, replaces Sheik transformation) spawns a character apart from Zelda (if a character stands next to you the Phantom may spawn on the other side of him/her). The Phantom can attack Zelda if it is reflected. More kicks. Farore's Wind (up b) launches those who are proximity
  • Yoshi: Significantly stronger
  • Samus: Unchanged
  • Sheik: No lag whatsoever, except with her new down b (originally her transformation into Zelda, #meleefansrejoice...)

Stages (FYI: 3DS info only)

  • Rhythm Heaven stage (works like Wario Ware Inc. in Brawl) (rumored)
  • Pictochat 2 (same level, more drawings)

Assist Trophies

  • NES Sheriff

Will edit with more info as it comes...

EDITS:

Light Blue Samus is actually grey

Captain Falcon moves updated

Palutena and Robin moves updated

Marth moves updated

Greninja moves added and Meta Knight updated significantly

More alts added. Palutena and Robin moves updated

De-confirmed alts added. Yoshi and Toon Link moves added. Added an Assist Trophy section

Added alt image links including Alph & Fierce Deity Link!

Armorless Metaknight isn't really... right?

Metaknight - Body Blue, feet black. The armor makes his face black (somehow) and has purple armor on his feet (assuming the black isn't part of the shoes).

This Kirby - Dark Purple body, purple feet. The eyes are the same.

So not quite?

Anyways information like this is some detail I don't care much about. Just leak the roster already someone.
