CMP Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Wait...there's no story mode in this new super smash? Nope. Apparently, this is Nintendo's response to people posting videos of Brawl's story on YouTube. Quote
Ultron Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 What's wrong with posting the brawl story on youtube...? People do walkthroughs of other nintendo games all the time. Quote
Canticleer blues Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 At the time, it was more about spoilers. Videos of the story clips were being leaked before the game came out, and Sakurai (the director) was upset that people were basically able to watch content that had taken his team a lot of effort to produce without actually buying the game itself. What we get now is something of a compromise; instead of a good chunk of memory space being devoted to adding in a whole story-based adventure, we get other new modes instead, like the Master Orders, 8-player, and Smash Tour mode, in addition to returning modes from previous games (like All-Star or Challenges, to name just a few). The other half of that is: we're still getting special professionally-produced videos showing the characters interacting (in the form of the character reveals and videos awarded for clearing Classic), and they'll be viewable in the game as well. So really, we're definitely getting at least as much, if not more content- it's just in different ways than the last game. Quote
PenPlays Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Also, multiple official Nintendo Twitter pages are reporting that Mewtwo may/will be available as purchasable DLC. Quote
Lego Spy Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Also, multiple official Nintendo Twitter pages are reporting that Mewtwo may/will be available as purchasable DLC. Oh, thank goodness. That's could save Nintendo some criticism. Quote
PenPlays Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 It's been just over a month since the Smash Wii U released in America! Such a wonderful game. Who here has been collecting Amiibo? I've been having such a challenge in trying to collect them all. Nintendo really doesn't get the whole "demand" thing with the Amiibo of the more obscure characters. It'll be such a lost opportunity if some of the Amiibo don't get new shipments into stores. Quote
bitbang Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I would love to see them make an updated version to the classic games. Keep them side scrolling but just with today's graphics. I want to get a Wii U but I am waiting on a few more games before I get one. I know there are tons already but I want to make sure I will play the thing and not waste money. Quote

I think they're similar enough to where that wouldn't be particularly worth it. Older maps, a handful of now-obsolete characters, and I guess different physics would be all that changes, right? That said, I would LOVE to see them re-release some old maps as DLC or something. I miss Big Blue. Quote
