Selander Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 (edited) This is a typical small 2axle industrial locomotive which can (could ) be seen shunting waggons in bigger industrial areas in Sweden. It's 7wide, 18studs long and has a 9v train motor. Edited December 2, 2016 by Selander Add photo Quote
Kodan Black Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Nice little engine, compact but has some details once you look closely. I always liked engines like this as a kid, stout little things that could move a lot. Quote
pirzyk Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 (edited) +1, great work to get all those details in! Any pics of the back? Edited December 2, 2016 by pirzyk Quote
McWaffel Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 That looks really nice! I wonder how that would look in DB livery (red). Good work! Quote
Sven J Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 A neat little locomotive. Beautiful! How did you build the slightly recessed cab doors? The offset seems to be less than half a plate? Quote

The offset seems to be less than half a plate? Thanks. Yes offset is just 0,8mm or 1/4 plate thickness. It is built by first putting a technic brick 2,5 studs (20mm) inside door opening. A tile 2*2 is placed at bottom. The door itself is built on a plate 2*2 with "door bricks" out, and eg brick 87087 inside. A plate is attached between 87087 and technical brick. -> 16+3,2mm = 19,2mm. Consequently a 0,8mm offset is achieved. Hope you follow me? Edited December 3, 2016 by Selander Quote

Selander Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016 Yes this is correct, but better using 2*87087 and technical brick 1*2 w 2holes. It gives a more stable design. Or like you show but one more 87087 plus technical brick 1*1. OK? Also I need to mention this is not my original design. But I cannot remember exactly the origin..... Quote
koalayummies Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Fantastic little engine. The closer you look the more details are revealed, love the small-offset door, door handle and compact nature of the whole locomotive. Quote
