Lost Viking Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Over the last few weeks in school, my robotics class has been competing in Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Sounds like fun! X-O My school is much to small and cheap to have anything like this, but all our neighboring schools seem to have mindstorms and such. |-/ I've always wanted to do something like this. :-$ Great job in winning :-D Quote
iamded Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 (edited) This is what you do in school?! X-O Lucky! :-D Great job on your success, this sounds like a lot of fun! ~Peace Edited January 15, 2008 by iamded Quote
SlyOwl Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 (edited) *y* Remote control or programmed? It looks like you only used the RIS 2.0, although the opponent had a *foreign* piece... SlyOwl Edited January 16, 2008 by SlyOwl Quote
VBBN Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I had that offer when I was in 6th grade. Nice! Quote
Lost Viking Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 *y* Remote control or programmed? It looks like you only used the RIS 2.0, although the opponent had a *foreign* piece... SlyOwl It was programmed. Everyone had the 2.0, although my teacher has ordered a number of parts off Bricklink. :-) Quote
Kahgarak Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 This is awesome! Good idea, going with the 'dozer design. Quote
Flesh Skywalker Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I just signed up to be a Lego Robotics coach at a local school, I would love to hear about anyone's experience. I am an Engineer and a Star Wars Lego collector, and I am really looking forward to this. Quote
The Alchemyst Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 I just signed up to be a Lego Robotics coach at a local school, I would love to hear about anyone's experience. I am an Engineer and a Star Wars Lego collector, and I am really looking forward to this. I'd head over to Technic or Lego General Discussion and look for a topic. This topic was before the Bionicle/Technic Split, and this is currently Bionicle now. I've had some fun with Lego Sumo before, nothing organized like FLL, but it's a lot of fun. Mostly because we had a couple Mindsotrms 2.0 bricks, and the Robots would explode in fights. [-TA-] Quote
Sir Dillon Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 As the Alchemyst pointed out, this was probably missed during the divide and now belongs in the Technic, Mindstorms & Model Team forum. I'll move it there. Quote
Legoman Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Nice! I do a bit of this robotics stuff with mindstorms. Recently I helped out teaching a class of 10-14 where they were learning to make sumo bots. We were using NXT's though. As for other compititions, I recently just won Robocup in my city and got flown up to nationals... just got back last night actully.... Lots of fun. And congrats on winning your sumo compitition. muffinman42 Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 (edited) i wish my school did the sumo bots, we have the RIS(the yellow one, not sure of name) bots but we only got to program them to make them go round a cource . we still managed to wreck 2 (they really should of put sides on the cource, or not put it on a table ) Edited September 12, 2009 by muffinman42 Quote
KimT Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 And congrats on winning your sumo compitition. Which was year and a half ago Quote
Legoman Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Which was year and a half ago Whoops, sorry Kim. I didn't see it was such an old thread . I must've just seen it and posted.... At least i wasn't the one to dig it up! Quote
