TRON Light Cycle

I have a soft spot for the original TRON movie, seeing as it's exactly as old as I am ;) So it was my goal for a long time to build the iconic Light Cycle, and with the help of some custom lighting I finally have a working model:

Despite never having seen the movie, I imediately recognized your model. I love the pulsating core, however, I'm not exactly sure how it works. Do you have any photos of that area specifically?

Not really. It's just a ring with black bars attached to it, rotating in front of a 4x4 cylinder that holds the LED tubes. Since the bars extend over the cylinder and partially obscure it, they create the pulsating effect as they rotate.

Been wanting to see the finished thing, excellent work! I watched the original movie not long ago, this is a great representation of the light-cycle.

Nice.  I like the effect.  Has it been 34 years since TRON was released?

Very original design. I am a huge fan of this build. I love the blacked out ride with blue light. Great work!
