ThinkCleverAndSmart Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 The Next Generation Scania was presented in August, and I knew that I was going to build it. I was hoping to be the first in the world to make this Next Generations Scania out of lego, and I think I am! Instructions is available at my site: https://sites.google.com/view/thinkcleverandsmart/lego-instructions?pageId=102920453997454125884 Video is on youtube: Quote
M_longer Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 It is nice model, that's for sure. But... it does not look like newest Scania: I'd say that it looks like average Scania (they look very similiar though), it has grille, lights, bumper: But it lacks those few details that distinguish 2016 version from older ones. For example, grille bars are not straight, they are made from three parts, with middle one placed a little bit lower than side ones. Quote

Well, if compared to the model with the grey grille, it's easier to see that they are actually very straight. I know what you mean, but I don't think it is possible to create that small of a hight difference in lego technic. Also, it has the wider bottom fog lights, it has the DAF like lights on the roof, the lights in the grille, and it has the new roofline etc. etc. These are details that make the new model differ from the old one. I just have to ask. Are you going to build your own version of this? You seem to be complaining on it on more than one forum I've posted this on. Don't get me wrong, constructive criticism is a good thing. Quote

I am not interested in buidling Scania(s), because they are boooring :) And I have first seen that model on Rebrickable, so the first comment was posted there. And here I have made second comment. Not too much complaints, don't you think? :) Quote

There's a ton of websites that have featured me, so just two comments isn't a lot. :) Also, I was trying to make this as fun to build as possible, so I made it as similar to the real truck as possible on the inside (the chassi). I have been working at Scania for a long time and know almost everything by now. ;) https://www.scania.com/group/en/first-lego-new-generation-scania/ Quote
