Dr. Brick Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Hi everybody, Well I'm not buying them but they're okay,... :-/ The villain seems to have remote control evil animals. (reciever on croc & (new X-O ) shark) Oh and the main minifig (at least that's what I think) reminds me of :-X jack stone :-X (look at face and hair-mold) I'm nit sure if these sets will be a succes. As mentiones before they are great part packs. But will kids like them? Thats who they are fore in the end. We'll just have to wait and see... 8-| Dr. Brick Quote
salty tbone Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 8630: Sweet, sleek jet fighter. But what's this?!! New minifig weapons!!! Tactical rifle in gold and some sort of big machine gun. And dual wielding! Nice. Definitely a plus! For sure I am at least getting the minifigs and accessories of this line! Cheaper than Brickarms and the like I bet. I see the dual-wielding guns as Star Wars blasters with (technic?) tubes attached to the ends. I don't think we'll be seeing new weapons (outside of new colors). Quote
SavaTheAggie Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Is it just me, or does the front bumper on the truck in 8630 look like it has some sort of 1x2 cheese slopes in between two 1x1 cheese slopes? --Tony Quote
iamded Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 (edited) I see guns blazing in all the pics! :-D And look at all the orange! As for human vs human violence, I'm not so sure, as the 'bad guys' seem to be cyborgs and robots. I'm liking this line, no matter what anyone else says! :-D ~Peace EDIT: Oh, thanks Hinckley! What would we do without you? Edited January 16, 2008 by iamded Quote
Oliverphoenix Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Is it me or do the vehicles and just the overall box art look like some toys from the 80's like M.A.S.K? Still I really don't like the sets nor the theme I'm sad to say,I feel like they could be so much better... Quote
iamded Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Tactical rifle in gold and some sort of big machine gun. Actually, I think that's the Star Wars rifle in black, just with funny lighting. :-/ 8631: I love the minifigs in the set! The villain is a must! That face is one only a mother could love and what's amazing, mechanical chainsaw arm!!?!? I'm so hoping it is a new arm piece. And you're right about the face! 8632: That villain has an odd helmet. Was LEGO playing Warhammer 40k at the moment? Cause the lower jaw of that helmet looks exactly like something an Orc would wear! I must get that piece! X-O You're right! Combine that with the Castle Trolls, and wala, WH40K Orks! :-D And the bike; Batpod anyone? :-P 8633: New Sharks! Yes! These look much much better! More animated and cartoony yes, but it's an improvement. Perhaps the "Triple G" will get a whacking upgrade? ;-) X-D I'm liking those new laser sharks. At least we still get more sharks. X-D And yes, it would make a fantastic new GGG! Sheesh, it looks like they can fit nearly an entire minifig in their mouths! 8634: Spider Man?!? :-D I think the spider guy is awesome, TLC probably thought of it when they made that robot spider in Sentai Fortress. X-D ~Peace Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 This line is definitely "one to watch" for me. I'm digging the weapons, new hair (does the brunette sport a ponytail with two Lara Croftian strains of hair dropping over the face?) and cyborg villains. Ooh, and sharks! Could look great in a Jaws MOC. If only they'll improve the crocs in the same way. They look at bit eighties compared to the new monsters (dinosaurs, Hogwartian creatures and apparently new sharks). When will these come out? Summer this year? Quote
Clonecommando007 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 That ATV looks like crap, but the set is good. The golden gun: In rifle form! Automatic firing with one hit kill bullets=>:-) The guy on the back also seems to have new molded guns too. The jet looks meh ok. It seems the bad guys are all red/orange and their leader is a guy with a huge beard. So there are 3, maybe more, 'agents'. That'll be cool. That car in the one set looks nice! That one whoppin huge truck! 8- Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Thanks for the pics, Colonel Sanders and Hinckley! That's what I call garbage! >:-( Has that anything to do with Lego high quality products?!!! :-( A "normal" Agents line similar to James Bond which goes with the Lego City theme would have been welcome - but this is - excuse me - really only waste endued with absolutely excessive action! *n* Quote
Some guy Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 8630: It's ok. 8631: If i would see the set without box i would think it was alpha team. 8632: Not bad,but the motorsycle is huge. 8633: Doesn't look good,i think it's made more for playability. 8634: Strange minifigure, but the rest is cool. 8635: Nothing to say about this one *wacko* . I think the idea of the theme and sets is good, but the sets need a real makeover. I'm glad that it are just prototipes :-P Quote
AgentRick Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Yes! I got my wish for a laptop! New sharks! Dark green alligators/crocodiles! Chainsaw arm :'-) :'-) ! I'll take missions one thru four to go, please! Quote
Darth_Legois Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 (edited) The guy on the back also seems to have new molded guns too. It looks like the hand gun's just have scilencers on them not a new mould,i like the jet, so far this is probable my fave set of the line. *y* Edited January 16, 2008 by Darth_Legois_619 Quote
Athos Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 What a strange line. Not the idea of secret agents, per se. But there is just something about this whole line that feels bizarre to me. Maybe it's the sharks with frickin' lasers attached to their heads? Steve Quote
Tanotrooper Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Honestly, don't you think it's been dead for a while? We've had guns in one form or another since the Pirates line. well, now you actually see the bullets being shot and hittin the wall etc., where no fire effects except lasers have ever been used I think. (correct me if I'm wrong) TT Quote
oo7 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Is it just me, or does the front bumper on the truck in 8630 look like it has some sort of 1x2 cheese slopes in between two 1x1 cheese slopes? Yes, those are 1x2 cheese slopes also found in new Exo-Force sets. There seems to be a bunch in the monstrously colossal truck as well. Quote
Tarfful Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 (edited) I spy :-D the JSF wing in the black in set 8630, that makes it a must for me!! :-) This theme is coming along a lot better than I initially thought it would I just *wub* the robotic animals and evil cyborgs! General Tarful Edited January 16, 2008 by GeneralTarful Quote

Sure it has a bit of crap in it, but look at those beautiful Minifigs, awesome new sharks, abunance of crocodiles, sweet spidermen, cyborgs, hairpeices, chainsaw arm, motorbike, barbed wire peices, laptop, spycar, not to mention it is a total parts pack! *wub* 8631, 8632, 8633 and 8634 are all good sets in my opinion! I say, give agents a chance! Batbrick is Back! >:-) Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Wow I actually love these. Reminds me of a megablocks theme, done in great lego style. Loveit. Quote
voltio Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 These look to be better than Alpha Team: Mission Deep Sea and Alpha Team III, but did Lego really need to release a new "spies" theme? I remeber AT2 and AT3 selling like cold cakes and going on 50% off clearance. Castle, City, and Star Wars are all red-hot right now, and Lego already has an "action" theme in Mars Mission (and Bionicle). At least it will give us new hairpieces and more SW blasters. :-/ Quote
canadianD Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I have a bit of a hard time making myself an opinion on this one... They have some intersting vehicles going on but I'm not sure I like the open violence of it all... And I really dislike those sharks... they look too cartoonish to me(but that might be my early conservatism kicking in... X-D ) i see what you mean but some of the weapons are from batman and those people didn't think were violent. Same with star wars the new sniper is in the jet truck chase thing and people didn't think star wars ones were voilent. Although maybe something about the story will change peoples minds. like thier laser guns instead or somethan. Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I also got a laugh out of the sharks with frickin' lasers attatched to their heads X-D I really love the new elements in this, the mechanical jaw helmet, the barbed wire, seems easy to get gold bars (the first picture, flying off the trailer) the mechanical villan face; and.. remote controlled animals? Interesting :-$ Seems to be the spawn of alpha team, with new more realistic, actiony characters and vehicles. I likey. I need monies for this and mars mission.. and creator.. Wah! :'-( Quote
iamded Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 <snip>Seems to be the spawn of alpha team, with new more realistic, actiony characters<snip> I'm not so sure about that. Well, it depends, what's more realistic; cyborgs or skeleton robot drones? 8-| X-D ~Peace Quote
Brickmaster Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 More realistic as in.. well.. they seem to be not totally made up lands; they seem to be on earth this time. Also, what villan goes underwater and controlls giant squids to rule the world?.. :-| Or try to takes over antartica?.. (thats really hard, mind you..) Or.. I dont even know what ogel was doing in the first line! :-D Here you can plainly see the snowmobile, forest, swamp, and other areas, sure its all abit cartoony, but theyre things spies would have! Slightly futuristic and out of the box ideas. I like it :-P Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Paying utterly NO attention to other posts, :-P these are my comments: The figs are AWESOME! Although I don't get the guy who has the claw thingummy over his mouth. Notice how in the first one, the truck driver has a Star Wars heavy blaster, in Belloq(I'm calling it that because I don't know what to call that color ;-) ), and the guy in the back has two of em' with bricks over the barrels! The Command Center looks too large for life, but still cool! New sharks, I see. But why are they and the gators strapped with bombs? Looks like TLC's found a new way of entertaining a Sci-Fi crowd... I will definitely get these... Quote
